Hyde—Clearfield came out shooting as cold as the ice outside in the parking lot Friday night against the Bellefonte Lady Red Raiders. The Lady Bisons were unable to hit a single shot from the field in the first quarter as they fell behind 16-0. Things started to get a little bit better as Alanna Luzier was able to put the Bisons on the board with a deep two pointer two minutes into the second period. Clearfield was able to net 13 points in the quarter with Luzier scoring 7 of them, unfortunately Bellefonte was able to score 22 more in the quarter heading into the half with a 38-13 lead.
Things continue to get worse for the Lady Bisons as they dug themselves into a deeper hole as the Lady Raiders continued to knock down shot after shot. The Red Raiders led by a score of 46-20 at the end of the third period The Bisons were only able to muster 5 more points in the fourth quarter as Lady Raiders put up 19 more points in the final quarter to end the game with a score of 65-25.
There were a few bright spots for the Bisons as Luzier and Annie Janocko were the high scorers for Clearfield scoring 9 and 7 points. Angie Proper paced the Raiders with a game high 24 points.
As for what to say about this game there isn’t really anything to say, and Coach Castagnolo agreed, “ We got beat by a better team tonight, but the girls didn’t give up they played hard.”
The Bisons will be back in action December 27th when they take on Bald Eagle in the Bald Eagle Tournament.
