State police at Clearfield
- State police responded to an accident Friday on Walton Street in Chester Hill Borough. Further, a vehicle operated by Pearl Evans of Hawk Run was traveling north and following too closely. She was unable to stop her vehicle in time to avoid hitting a vehicle operated by Holly Henry of Philipsburg, which was stopped to make a turn. No injuries were reported as a result, and all occupants were wearing their seatbelts, state police said.
- State police responded to an accident Friday on Walton Street in Chester Hill Borough. Further, a vehicle operated by Douglas Weld of Philipsburg was traveling north when it experienced a brake failure. Weld was unable to stop his vehicle in time to avoid hitting a vehicle operated by Dillon Hollenback of Philipsburg, which was stopped to make a turn. Both Weld and his passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts, state police said.
State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of institutional vandalism that occurred sometime Oct. 2-5 at the Penfield Elementary School. During the incident, someone allegedly used an unknown object to scratch words into four windows on the south side of the school. Damage is estimated at $400, state police said. - State police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Thursday on the Bennetts Valley Highway in Huston Township. Further, a vehicle traveled off the roadway and traveled into the victim’s yard and into a culvert. The vehicle then fled the scene; damage is estimated at $100, state police said. - State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Oct. 6 on Hickory Road in Huston Township. During the incident, a Penfield man allegedly engaged in a dispute with the victim. It allegedly turned physical when he grabbed the victim by the arm and attempted to pull him out of his truck while threatening to assault him. Charges were filed against the man, state police said.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred sometime between April 1 and Oct. 6 along the railroad tracks off of Bark Camp Road in Huston Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed several parts from a loader. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
- On Sept. 30, state police stopped a Campbell, Ohio man for traffic violations on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile-marker 104.6 in Union Township. Upon investigation state police allegedly found that the man was in possession of drugs and pills.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an alleged burglary that occurred Thursday on North Eighth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly gained entry into the victim’s residence and removed cash. The next day, state police received a call from the victim who indicated it wasn’t stolen and only misplaced. State police subsequently listed the incident as unfounded.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred Sept. 29 on Spotts Road in Union Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took multiple grocery items from Mountain View Farm and Landscape. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- State police received a report about the use of carts Sunday on North Ninth Street in Philipsburg Borough. As a result, two people were cited for allegedly possessing shopping carts at their residence that belonged to Weis Market.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an alleged burglary/theft that occurred sometime between Sept. 26 and Friday on Main Street in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed a 2001 Honda 80 dirt bike, which was red and white in color, from the victim’s closed garage. The dirt bike, according to state police, is valued at $600; the incident remains under investigation at this time. Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged assault that occurred at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a call regarding a civil matter.
- Police have initiated an investigation into the alleged theft of a solar light from the Crown Crest Cemetery.
- Police received a report about alleged drug activity along Owens Road.
- Police received a report to issue a temporary Protection from Abuse order on Putty Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft by deception scam. Police would advise residents to be mindful about whom they release their personal information to.
- Police received a report about a possible abandoned vehicle on Spring Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct involving people who were throwing stuff over the Mount Joy Bridge onto Interstate 80.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle at the SPCA building.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft from a motor vehicle on High Street. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received multiple reports about alleged thefts from motor vehicles in the Hillsdale area. Police would like to advise residents to lock their vehicles to prevent further incidents.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly being disorderly on Smith Street.

- Police received a report about suspicious activity in Hillsdale. The incident was unfounded, police said.
DuBois City
- Police were dispatched for an alleged attempted theft Friday in the 700 block of Monroe Street. Further, the victim told police that a suspect wearing a black hoody with white lettering on its back was observed leaving his porch after trying to break into a secured box. The suspect, according to police, was last seen walking through the Penn Highlands Hospital area and toward South Main Street. Police were unable to locate the suspect described to them by the victim.
- Police were dispatched to PNC Bank on North Brady Street on Friday, where a customer allegedly directed threats toward employees. Police were able to make contact with the male, and charges are currently pending at this time.
- Police received a report about an accident involving a pedestrian Friday at the intersection of North Brady Street and Scribner Avenue. Further, a female was crossing the street when a vehicle turned left onto Brady Street and struck her in the arm/shoulder. The female, according to police, was transported to the Penn Highlands Hospital with minor injuries. Police were assisted by the DuBois City Fire Department and DuSan Ambulance.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly being disorderly inside a store Friday in the 100 block of North Brady Street. The male, according to police, was allegedly trying to get food without paying for it and also bothering customers. Upon arrival police allegedly identified the male as Thomas E. Sherry and determined he was intoxicated and had an active warrant for his arrest. Sherry was cited for public drunkenness and lodged in the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Friday. Upon investigation the caller allegedly admitted to providing false information to police.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute Friday in the 200 block of McCracken Run Road. A female caller told police that her husband had been drinking, caused damaged to the residence and left. Police were able to make contact with both parties who agreed to cease contact with each other for the night.
- Police received a report about drug paraphernalia that was allegedly found inside a trash can downtown on Saturday. Upon arrival police recovered various drug-related items from the trash can to be disposed of properly.
- Police received a report about two suspicious males Saturday in the 300 block of Hospital Avenue. The males allegedly asked to see the caller’s electric bill and advised rates may go up; the caller didn’t provide them with any information. Police were unable to locate the two males but advised the caller to contact them if they came back.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident Saturday in the 600 block of Liberty Boulevard. Witnesses told police that a 2002 Buick Sedan struck a 2007 Chevrolet pick-up truck and then fled the scene. As well, witnesses were able to provide police with the vehicle information for the Buick Sedan. Police were subsequently able to make contact with the female who was operating it at the time of the accident. Upon investigation police were allegedly able to determine that the female was intoxicated, and she was arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
- Police were dispatched to a 911 hang-up call Saturday in the 700 block of West Long Avenue. Upon investigation police allegedly found a male who was involved had an active bench warrant for his arrest in Butler County. Police took the male into custody and put him in the CCJ to be detained until he’s taken to Butler County.
- Police received multiple calls Saturday about a male who was allegedly intoxicated and walking in his underwear in the area of South State Street. Police were able to make contact with the male who was cited for public drunkenness and released to his mother.
Sandy Township
- A 19-year-old DuBois man reported that he dozed off while driving to work Friday on Rockton Road. He told police that his vehicle crossed over the center lane and impacted a utility pole, sheering it off and causing it to fall across both lanes of traffic. His vehicle then traveled off the roadway and into a yard where it impacted a tree. A vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Clearfield man approached the scene; however, the man did not see the pole across the roadway and his vehicle struck it head-on. The 19-year-old was transported to Penn Highlands for treatment of injuries, police said.
- A Frito Lay employee alleged on Friday that he had an iPad stolen while working at Wal-Mart.
- A 66-year-old Treasure Lake man alleged on Friday that someone opened a credit card in his name and charged $3,099 to it.
- Two vehicles were involved in a minor accident Friday on Platt Road. The vehicles were moved prior to police arrival to the scene, and the operators were unable to agree on who traveled into the other’s lane. No injuries were reported as a result, and the vehicles were both driven from the scene, police said.
- A 33-year-old Tozier Avenue man was allegedly seen by Wal-Mart employees attempting to conceal a box of Extenze and leave the store without paying of it. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- A Forsyth Road resident reported her black and white collie mix got loose from her residence on Friday.
- On Friday a 69-year-old Treasure Lake resident alleged that while he and his wife were out of town, a known 28-year-old Dubois man who had done some handyman work for them in the past came into their home uninvited and was startled by their daughter who was at the residence. When the couple returned home they discovered medications missing, police said. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Saturday police received a report about someone who was allegedly staying in a vacant trailer in Devil Estates. Police checked the area and determined that the trailer was locked from the inside. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A 20-year-old Sher-De-Lin Road man alleged that an iPhone, Subwoofers and headphones were taken from his vehicle on Saturday.
- On Saturday a Treasure Lake woman alleged receiving automated phone calls from an unknown number with the caller claiming to be from the IRS. She recognized the calls as a scam and reported it to the police.
- On Saturday a 54-year-old Strosky Road woman alleged that someone took a small fire safe from her bedroom.
- DuBois Mall Security alleged there were kids skating in the parking lot on Saturday. However, the group was gone upon police arrival.
- Police received a report about kids who were allegedly pushing each other into traffic on Forest Avenue. However, the kids were gone upon police arrival.
- A Cardinal Drive resident reported that while she was gone from home, a neighbor saw a white pick-up truck pull into her driveway, and the occupants got out and walked around her house. Nothing appeared out of place on the property, police said.
- On Sunday a 19-year-old Penfield man allegedly removed a speaker from the package and attempted to conceal it in order to leave Wal-Mart without paying for it. Charges have been filed, police said.
- A 64-year-old Time to Bid Road woman alleged Sunday that someone put two, big holes in her trailer. At this time, it is unknown what caused the damage, police said.
