SALISBURY, N.C. – Led by three solo home runs, Lock Haven\’s softball team (4-1, 0-0 PSAC West) won their third game in a row as they defeated Coker College 3-1 in the final game of the Catawba Invitational.
Erica Eisenbise (Wernersville, Pa./Wilson) and Ilia Lopez (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) each went deep for the second day in a row and Amanda Gutmaker (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Northeast) put a ball over the center field fence as The Haven scored three runs off of five hits for the victory.
Defensively, the Lady Eagles had six errors in what was a \”sloppy game\” according to Lady Eagle head coach Kelley Green.
In the circle, it was Kristin Erb (Reading, Pa./Exeter) picking up her fourth victory on the year as she threw a complete game while giving up seven hits and one unearned run and fanning nine Coker batters.
LHU is back in action on March 9, 2008 as they take part in the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, FL. The Haven will play 12 games in six days as the tournament runs from the ninth until March 15. LHU kicks off the tournament against C.W. Post with the first pitch slated for 9 a.m.
