State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of corruption of minors that occurred Thursday at the Penn-Grampian Elementary School. During the incident, a 31-year-old Glen Richey woman allegedly provided a fictitious excuse for the victim’s tardiness. It was allegedly at least the fourth time over the past year that she had provided a fictitious excuse for the victim. State police have cited the woman though the district court.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an alleged motor vehicle theft that occurred Wednesday on Main Street in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole a 1997 Dodge Dakota extended cab truck from a parking area. They allegedly drove it around the area for a short time before parking it in an overgrown field about a half-mile northwest from the scene. The truck, according to state police, sustained damage as a result of striking a tree. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a residence along East Walnut Street for a 911 hang-up call. Police made contact with the occupants who advised a child was playing with a cell phone.
- Police are investigating an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred along the newly-constructed sidewalk along the riverwalk project.
- Police were called to the area of Holmes Avenue for a dog that was running loose. Police arrived and learned that the owner had secured the dog.
- Police assisted a constable from Elk County in taking a Clearfield Borough resident into custody on outstanding warrants.
- Police were called to South Front Street for a suspicious male. Police located the male who was in need of a place to stay. Police assisted with locating a place for the male to stay the night.
Lawrence Township
- Police were requested to check the welfare of someone at a residence in the Glen Richey area.
- Police responded to an alleged incident of disorderly conduct on Leonard Street. Further, police handled the incident at the scene.
- Police received a report about an abandoned vehicle on Clarendon Avenue.
- Police were requested to check on the welfare of someone at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.
- Police received a report about an alleged disturbance on Haversack Lane. Further, police handled the incident at the scene.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at Wal-Mart.
- Police received reports about two alleged incidents of retail theft that occurred at Wal-Mart.
- Police responded to an alleged incident of bullying in the Kerr Addition area. Further, police handled the incident at the scene.
Sandy Township
- Police received a call about a barking dog on Maple Avenue on Wednesday. Officers could not locate the barking dog.
- On Thursday an 82-year-old Midway Drive woman alleged that an unknown woman arrived at her residence, claimed to be from Verizon and convinced her to let her come inside. At one point, the woman allegedly said that she had to go to the car and speak to her supervisor. The resident said she thought this was strange and would not allow the woman back in.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Comcast on Thursday.
- A 38-year-old DuBois woman has been charged with trespassing after Wal-Mart employees alleged Thursday that she was in the store after receiving a “no trespass notice.”
