Former Fire Chief Waives Hearing in Alleged Arson Case
DUBOIS – A former fire chief has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Christopher George Leone, 24, 1398 Treasure Lake, DuBois, is charged by the DuBois-based state police with reckless burning, official oppression, criminal mischief and dangerous burning. Bail in this case has been set at $5,000, unsecured.
Ohio Man Snagged for Allegedly “Shooting up” at Snappy’s
DUBOIS – An Ohio man is facing charges for allegedly using drugs in a gas station bathroom.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office Aug. 31, Dwight D. Woodyard, 30, 55 Center St., Crown City, Ohio, is charged by the Sandy Township police with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.
Juvenile Charged for Alleged Involvement in Knife-point Robbery
DUBOIS- A juvenile has been charged in connection with an armed robbery.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office, the 17-year-old female has been charged by the Sandy Township police, with two counts of robbery in connection with an incident Aug. 27.
CAST’s 2015 Season Continues with New Programs and Events
CLEARFIELD – Clearfield’s downtown arts center is turning the page on a new chapter.
The story caps off its regular season with two previously scheduled shows. The plot continues with many “exciting, new” programs, events and educational opportunities.

CLEARFIELD – The case against the former president of the Kephart Trucking Company, Timothy Lee Kephart, 56, of Morrisdale was discussed in motions court on Thursday.

Clearfield Borough Discusses Potential Ordinances, Trick-or-Treating
CLEARFIELD – Some summertime staples need to be reined in to keep a nuisance from becoming a major problem.
At Thursday’s Clearfield Borough Council work session, Code Enforcement Officer Larry Mack asked for permission to research new ordinances for yard sales and recreational campers. Mack said he is not looking to prohibit yard sales or campers, but some recent issues have shown that a few rules are needed.
