DUBOIS- A juvenile has been charged in connection with an armed robbery.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office, the 17-year-old female has been charged by the Sandy Township police, with two counts of robbery in connection with an incident Aug. 27.
Also charged in connection with the incident are Roderick Joe Gregory Jr., 23, 254 N. Wood Ave., DuBois, Mackenzie Alexa Carlson, 19, 602 Locust St., DuBois, and Jeanmal McPhee, (no house number given) Wilson Ave., DuBois. All are charged with two counts of robbery and one count each of burglary, assault, theft by unlawful taking, recklessly endangering another person, criminal trespass and criminal conspiracy.
According to the affidavit, police responded to Hungry Hollow Road to meet with a man reporting he had been robbed.
The victim allegedly told police that he was at his trailer when three men came in. The victim did not know the individuals and allegedly told police the three men were wearing masks and all had knives.
The victim allegedly told police that the three men used physical force and threatened to kill him if he didn’t open his safe. The victim said one man allegedly held a knife to his throat while the other two rummaged through the victim’s possessions.
The victim said he opened his safe and the men took about $400, six knives, two packs of cigarettes and some prescription drugs before fleeing on foot.
The victim said he feels he was “set up.” He allegedly told police about an hour before the robbery, he allegedly received a call the 17-year-old juvenile asking if he would pick her and a friend up at a gas station. The victim said he picked the juveniles up and took them back to his trailer.
The victim said he became suspicious because the 17-year-old was texting someone while the other female stood outside the trailer. The victim allegedly told police that both juveniles fled with the three men.
A witness to the incident then came to the police station to speak to an officer about the robbery.
The witness allegedly told police that his girlfriend and Carlson went to a house on West Long Avenue to visit with Gregory. The witness said that McPhee, a juvenile and another woman were also at the house.
The witness allegedly told police that McPhee and the juvenile were going to “set a guy up and take his drugs.” The witness allegedly told police that the juvenile was to call the victim and get him to take her to his trailer.
The witness allegedly said the arrangements were made to meet the victim. The witness said he, McPhee, Carlson and Gregory were in Gregory’s car and followed the victim to his trailer. The witness allegedly told police he dropped McPhee, Carlson and Gregory off near the victim’s trailer.
Police then spoke to one of the juveniles, whose mother allegedly provided text messages between the other juvenile and McPhee where they communicated and arranged for McPhee, Gregory and Carlson to enter the victim’s property and commit the robbery.
