HUSTON TOWNSHIP – State police at DuBois are investigating a crash that resulted in extensive damage to a residence during the early morning hours Saturday at the intersection of Route 153 and Horseshoe Drive in Huston Township.
According to the report, a vehicle was traveling north on Route 153; it went across the roadway and struck a guiderail. The vehicle then traveled north along the guiderail for 121 feet, leaving a paint transfer.
The vehicle traveled back across the roadway, at which point it began to turn in a counterclockwise direction. It continued in a northeastern direction before becoming airborne with its right side striking into a residence, state police said.
After impact state police said that the vehicle traveled in a western direction while overturning onto its roof. The operator of the vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of fire and emergency personnel and state police.
The operator of the vehicle is unknown at this time. A known, 19-year-old Penfield woman who was a passenger of the vehicle sustained moderate injuries. She was flown from the scene to the Altoona Medical Center, state police said.
Damage to the residence was extensive, according to the report. The investigation is ongoing at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact the DuBois-based state police at 814-371-4652.
