Nine people were killed when a residential building collapsed in India, authorities said.
The three-story building in the Thane district of Maharashtra state collapsed Tuesday night, Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation Mayor Kalyani Patil said.
At least 11 people were rescued and hospitalized. Everyone believed to be in the building has been accounted for.
The area was raining heavily when the building collapsed.
The building was built in 1972. Residents had been warned to vacate the building, which was slated for demolition, Patil said.
