Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre
Special Performance
The Shaffers, Chris, Richie and Alaina, along with special guests, Dalton Condon and Rick Evans, will present a special performance at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre. They will be covering the acoustic styles of rock, blues, pop, indie and country.
Chris and Richie are best known for their comedic songs and goofball antics at CAST’s Friday Night Live!, although they have also performed at several downtown festivals. This will be their first major performance venturing into the more serious styles of music.
Alaina has also performed at local festivals and church services and was a past winner of the Grampian Idol Contest, as well as having been asked to sing the National Anthem at many high school sporting events. Dalton Condon is known as the lead singer/guitarist of the band, Twin Reverb, and this will be Rick Evans’ debut performance.
Tickets for this event, which is a CAST benefit, are just $3 and will be available at the door performance night. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show.

Parker Dam State Park is again offering DiscoverE programs to youth at the park this summer. Do you know a child who enjoys exploring the outdoors or who constantly asks questions about nature? If so, the DiscoverE programs will help these youngsters learn about the natural world around them.
This series of fun and exciting programs allow young people to explore their environment with others of the same age and abilities. Youth who progress year to year from one program to the next in the series will continue to grow in their understanding of the environment and their role in it.
The Outdoor Explorers program theme this year is “Water, Water Everywhere.” Children participating in the program will learn about a variety of animals that live in and around the water through activities, walks, games, and crafts.
Outdoor Explorers is open to children ages 6-8 years, is also comprised of six hours of programming and runs for three days. There is no requirement for a parent or guardian to remain during this program. The program will be held July 28, 29, and 30, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
There is no fee to participate in the DiscoverE programs. However, class size is limited and participants must be pre-registered. Parents can register their children by calling the Parker Dam State Park Office at 814-765-0630.
Be prepared to state which DiscoverE that you wish to enroll your child in and have your contact information available. Once registered, you will be sent more details as the program dates approach.
