Clarence J. Baumgardner, 93, of Clearfield died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Baumgardner was born April 4, 1922 in Clearfield, the son of Harry and Helen (Johnston) Baumgardner.
He was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School.
Mr. Baumgardner had worked for Wal-Mart, Clearfield Hospital and Harbison Walker.
He had also been the owner of four businesses: Fox’s Pizza Den, Jeani B. Market, Bummy’s and Reedsville Market.
He was a life member of the Second Ward Fire Company.
Mr. Baumgardner is survived by his wife, Imogene (Briggs) Baumgardner, to whom he was married June 20, 1942 in Clearfield.
He is survived by 12 children, Jacqulyn Stone and her husband, Glenn of State College; Cynthia Lanich and her husband, Edward, Robert Baumgardner, Rodger Baumgardner and his wife, Gay and Debra Stiner and her husband, Richard, all of Clearfield; Linda Taylor of Salt Lake City, Utah; Alan Von Baumgardner and his husband, Hector of Grand Island, Neb.; Robin Litz and her husband, Shawn of Evington, Va.; Dennis Baumgardner of Apopka, Fla.; Joyce Barr of Sebring, Ohio; Melinda Cowder and her husband, Danny of Goshen; and Andrea Cowder of Philadelphia; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was the last member of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Baumgardner; a grandson, Stewart Taylor; two sisters, Mary Jane Healey and Margaret Kelly; a brother, Arthur Baumgardner; and an infant sister, Louise.
Honoring Mr. Baumgardner’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services.
