State police at Ridgway

• An incident of DUI occurred Friday in the area of Laurel Mill and Bear Creek roads in Spring Creek Township. During the incident, a 57-year-old Ridgway man was allegedly observed committing a traffic violation and determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to the Elk Penn Highlands Hospital for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending the results of the blood draw, state police said.

Lawrence Township

• Police received a report about a traffic complaint on River Road. Further, a tractor-trailer driver had attempted to turn around, as it wouldn’t be able to pass under the railroad bridge.
• Police received a traffic complaint that occurred on the bypass. Further, a tractor-trailer hauling cars was reportedly traveling all over the roadway. Police checked on the driver who was not under the influence.
• Police received a report about an alleged theft of lottery tickets.
• Police received a report about a female juvenile who was allegedly being disorderly and making threats. Charges were filed against her, police said.
• Police received a report about an alarm at a business on Route 879. Upon arrival police found an open door; when police searched the business, there wasn’t anyone inside. Police advised the alarm company of this and secured the business.
• Police received a report about an alleged retail theft at the Sapp Bros Truck Stop. Upon arrival police found a driver had pumped approximately $54 in diesel fuel and then failed to pay. Police located the driver and determined they’d used a credit card that hadn’t been activated yet.  The driver returned to Sapp Bros. and provided an alternative form of payment.

Curwensville Borough

• Police received a report about a vehicle that’d been driven into a house Wednesday on Alleghany Street. Police said a vehicle wasn’t at the scene; however, damage had occurred to the house.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct. Upon investigation police determined there wasn’t any violation.
• Police warned an Anderson Avenue resident who had burned items. Police advised the resident of burning regulations and that if his actions continued, he will receive a citation.
• Police received a report about a Curwensville man who was allegedly attacked by several dogs while walking on Moose Street. Further, the man was bitten by one of the dogs. Police located the owner of the dogs who will be issued several citations. Police would like to remind residents their pets must be leashed and they are responsible for their pet’s actions.

DuBois City

• Police were dispatched to North Brady Street for a report about an alleged disorderly male on Wednesday. Upon arrival police found a male had entered the store and asked for a free cup of water. However, police said the male filled the cup with soda and attempted to leave without paying. When an employee confronted the male about paying for the soda police said he allegedly began yelling; eventually, he dumped out the soda and filled the cup with water. The male then left the store prior to police arrival.
• Police were dispatched to the area of South Brady Street and Shaffer Avenue for a report about suspicious activity on Wednesday.  The caller told police there was an intoxicated male and female walking in the area. The caller also feared the couple may be steeling from cars.  Upon arrival police were neither able to find anyone who matched the description nor any evidence of theft.
• Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Wednesday at the intersection of West Park Avenue and New Street.  Upon arrival police found a 30-year-old Brockway man failed to stop his vehicle and rear-ended another driven by a 54-year-old Punxsutawney woman. Both drivers exchanged information at the scene. Police learned the man had never possessed a valid driver’s license; he was cited for the accident.
• While on routine patrol Wednesday, police observed a vehicle back into a post on North Brady Street and cause damage.  Upon investigation police found that the vehicle was out of inspection, had a fraudulent inspection sticker and an expired registration; police also found that the driver’s license was under suspension. Police will cite the driver for numerous violations.
• Police were dispatched to an alleged burglary in progress in the 500 block of Clinton Alley on Thursday. The victim told police her estranged boyfriend had climbed into her second-floor window and assaulted her.  Upon arrival police allegedly located the male inside the house and he was intoxicated; he allegedly refused to cooperate and answer questions.  The victim told police the male moved out days ago and was not to be in the house.  She alleged that the male had climbed in her window and began to yell and scream at her.  She also alleged that he became increasingly angry and shoved her to the ground. Police arrested the male for burglary, simple assault, criminal trespass, loitering and prowling at night, harassment and public drunkenness.
• On Thursday police were called to the intersection of North Jared Street and West Scribner Avenue for a report about a man who was sleeping on the sidewalk. Upon arrival police found that the male had been out walking all night after arguing with his family.  He was advised to return to his house and not to sleep on the sidewalk. An hour later, police were dispatched to the 300 block of Quarry Avenue for a report about a male who was sleeping in the caller’s vehicle. Upon arrival police found the same man from the previous incident. This time police arrested the male for public drunkenness and detained him until a family member could take custody of him.
• Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Reams Street Thursday for a report about two dogs running loose in the neighborhood.  The caller told police it was an ongoing problem with their neighbor’s two Chihuahuas.  Police attempted to catch the two dogs but were unable to get close enough.  Police said that the owner’s children were able to bring the dogs under control. Police said that citations may be issued as a result of the incident.
• While on patrol Thursday, police observed a known female who had outstanding warrants. Police made contact with the female and took her into custody without incident.  She was transported to Clearfield County Jail.

Sandy Township

• A 911 hang-up call was received from a Sher De Lin road residence on Wednesday. Police found the residence to be vacant.
• On Wednesday Wal-Mart employees alleged that in June a woman made a fraudulent return and then failed to ring up three items, totaling $43.88 at the self-checkout. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• On Wednesday Wal-Mart employees alleged that an unknown man took two computers valued at $1,298 without paying for them. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• On Wednesday Wal-Mart employees alleged that a woman failed to properly ring up $233.42 worth of merchandise at the self-checkout. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• On Thursday a 37-year-old Walnut Avenue man reported that his mountain bike, which was parked next to his porch, was stolen.
• Police received a report about a suspicious male who was outside of the Wine & Spirits Store in the Sandy Plaza and acting strangely on Thursday. Police located him and determined he had several bench warrants, stemming from incidents in DuBois City.  The man was taken into custody and transported to CCJ by DuBois City police.
