Ralph Wayne Addleman Jr. died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at his home in Clearfield. He was born March 2, 1950, in Tyrone, the son of Ralph Wayne Addleman Sr. and Jean Addleman, who survive.
On May 25, 1970, he married Ethel Marlene Dunlap Addleman. Mr. Addleman loved her dearly; she survives.
He was a 1968 graduate of the Curwensville High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1971, where he worked on the flight deck of the U.S.S. Saratoga.
He was a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6.
Mr. Addleman was employed at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center. He had previously worked for Berg Electronics. He lived in the area all of his life except when he was stationed in Jacksonville, Fla., while in the Navy.
He was a loving, dedicated family man and an avid sports fan. He especially loved baseball. He would watch any game regardless of who was playing – Little League or the pros. He watched the Pittsburgh Pirates since his boyhood, win or lose, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers.
One of his favorite hobbies was playing scratch-off lottery tickets while his wife shopped as the two paired their favorite hobbies. He loved music, especially anything played live.
He had a strong work ethic and rarely ever missed a day of work. He enjoyed traveling and loved taking trips to the beach, where he immensely enjoyed the sun and surf.
Mr. Addleman had a laid back, easy-going attitude that adapted well to any situation. He was almost always the life of the party.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene of Clearfield; his father, Ralph Sr. of Philipsburg; and his mother, Jean of Clearfield; and his daughter, Lea Rishel and her husband, Jim of Clearfield and his son, Brent Addleman of Brownwood, Texas.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Josh Rishel and his wife, Shana, Kelton and his wife, Shawna and MarleeJo Rishel, all of Clearfield, and his great-grandchildren, Tucker, Grant and Alora.
He is also survived by his sister, Linda Ruffner and her husband, Dan of Clearfield; a brother, Chuck and his wife, Phyllis of West Decatur; five nieces and nephews, Danny Ruffner, Jason Ruffner, Janelle Ruffner, Emily Addleman and Clint Addleman; and an aunt, Vai Ardary.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wayne Addleman of Curwensville. His grandfather owned South Side Garage and operated the school buses for Curwensville schools.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bennett & Houser Funeral Home in Clearfield with Pastor Robert Achey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
