Louise H. “Wez” McClement, 85, of Philipsburg died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
Born Aug. 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Sarah (Wood) Horne.
On Oct. 9, 1949 in Philipsburg, she married Fred Pelton Jr.; he preceded her in death. On July 3, 1975, she married James M. McClement; he preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1992.
She was a member and regular attender of the First Baptist Church of Philipsburg.
Mrs. McClement had an active social life and enjoyed friendships of many. She had a fondness for dogs and loved to bake goodies.
She was a distinguished donor of the American Red Cross. She had donated more than 17 gallons during her lifetime.
In her younger years, Mrs. McClement worked at the Sugar bowl and W.T. Grant Company in Philipsburg.
She was then employed with the General Cigar Company plant in Philipsburg for 22 years and lastly with the Charles Navasky & Company for five years until retiring.
She was a 1947 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.
In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by, a sister, Jane Fenton and a brother-in-law, Edward Fenton.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne (Pelton) Rutkoskie and her husband, Mike of Danville; a step-son, James M. McClement and his wife, Shirley of Lubbock, Texas; and a sister, Bettie Husted and her husband, Tom of Philipsburg.
Mrs. McClement is also survived by three grandchildren, Samantha Rutkoskie and her husband, Ron Grzywacz of Royersford, Eli Rutkoskie of Philadelphia and Izaak Rutkoskie of Beaumont, Texas; a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Grzywacz of Royersford; three step-grandchildren, Angela Zisiger, Timothy McClement and Pamela Johnson; one step-great-grandchild, Aspen Zisiger; and three nephews and their families, Ed and Ruth Fenton and children of State College, Matt and Pat Fenton and sons of State College, and Jim and Loretta Husted and their son of Baker, La.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Ted G. Seibert officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
