Robert L. Womeldorf, 83, of Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Born July 1, 1931 in Porter Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Darl and Irene (Gruber) Womeldorf.
On Sept. 22, 1951, he married Delores J. Hershberger Womeldorf. She preceded him in death on Oct. 6, 2005.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; he served during the Korean War.
He was the third-generation owner of Womeldorf Incorporated, and he, along with his wife, was the owners of Womeldorf Equipment Company.
Mr. Womeldorf was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University. He enjoyed following the Penn state Nittany Lions and was a big supporter pf Penn state Public Broadcasting.
He was a member of the Lewistown Rotary Club and a Free & Accepted Mason in the Valley of Harrisburg Consistory. He especially loved to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by three children, Linda Crandall, Keith Womeldorf and his wife, Jane and Robyn Womeldorf, all of DuBois; five grandchildren, Brian and Jason Crandall; Kristyn and Kacey Womeldorf; and Seth Womeldorf; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Olivia Crandall.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Womeldorf.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Charlene Lauver officiating.
Burial will follow in New Bethlehem Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
