Louise Lobb, 102, a guest of Windy Hill Village, a part of Presbyterian Senior Living, Philipsburg, and formerly of Brisbin, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
Born, April 1, 1913, she was the daughter of Emanuel and Tillie (Rabine) Cardinal of Brisbin.
On Dec. 25, 1936 in Philipsburg, she married Harold R. Lobb, also of Brisbin. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1974.
She was a member of the Brisbin Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended and completed 35 consecutive years of perfect Sunday school attendance. Through the years, she held several church offices.
She is survived by daughters, Elaine Finney of Houtzdale and Kay Churner and her husband, David of Brisbin and eight grandchildren, Terry (JoAnn) Finney and Michelle (Bob) Moyer of Houtzdale, Eli Finney Jr. and his fiancée, Karen Perkins, Nancy (Dewayne) Kephart and David (Joy) Finney of Osceola Mills, Tonia (Rich) Saupp Burley of Lancaster, Loir Hewitt and her fiancé, John Patterson of Brisbin, and Heather (Tom) Domanick of Ramey.
She is survived by 20 great-grandchildren, Curtis and Trey Finney, Dustin and Chessa Moyer, Sheena (James) Lee and Isaac Finney, Taylor Kephart, Noah, Hannah and Daniel Finney, Ryan (Ashley) Saupp and Brenda (Dan) Witherow, Nichole (Dan) Coccia and Samantha Hewitt and her fiancé, Jeff Warner, Gage, Kortney, Ragan and Aiden Domanick, Brianna and Miranda Burley and five great-great-grandchildren, Nathan and Ainslee Finney, Elizabeth and Rosalyn Lee and Owen Saupp.
She was blessed by the love of her friend, Bert Majewsky of Houtzdale; he made her last several years so special. His caring ways brought a gleam to her eye and a renewed zest for life.
Mrs. Lobb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; three brothers, Charles, Emanuel II and Llewlyn (Mick) Cardianl; a grandson, John Dimmick; a son-in-law, Eli Finney; and a grandson-in-law, James Saupp. She was the last of her generation.
She loved to be surrounded by family and spent her entire life as a wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. How fitting that she gently left this life on, what would have been her late-husband’s 102nd birthday, to awake in Heaven, where we will all be re-united again someday.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Brisbin Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Melhorn officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F Cemetery Brisbin.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, and from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Monday.
The family suggest contributions be made to the Brisbin Baptist Church, Brisbin, PA 16620 in memory of Louise Lobb for music ministry.
Elaine and Kay wish to express their thanks to Windy Hill Village for their loving care and attention to their mother, to Pastor Mark Melhorn for his prayers and words of comfort and to her friends and acquaintances for their cards and visits during our mother’s declining years.
