Frances M. “Chickie” Cherban Nairn, 81, of DuBois died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born Dec. 18, 1933 in Wishaw, she was the daughter of James and Jean (Murone) Torrell.
She was the Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology Director for 12 years. She retired in 1998.
She then worked part-time at the Clearfield Beauty Academy for seven years. She was also the marketing director at the Maple Avenue Hospital from 1979-1985.
She was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and myriad of friends.
She is survived by her children, Glenda Stewart of Frederick, Md., Glenn Stewart and his wife, Debbie of Fort Myers, Fla., and Gregg Stewart and his wife, Cindy of Leesburg, Va.
She is survived by a brother, James Torrell and his wife, Diane of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Donna Skehan and her husband, Mike of DuBois; five grandchildren, Chad, Casey, Ashton, Alexis and Olyvia; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin “Toppy” Nairn on Dec. 2, 2014 and her sister, Shirley Humphrey.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer and Fr. Mosimann, Pastor, St. John The Apostle, Leesburg, Va., as concelebrants.
Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery in Reynoldsville.
