State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Thursday in the area of the Old Erie Pike and Twoey Road in Boggs Township. A 76-year-old Philipsburg man was traveling east when his vehicle exited the east shoulder, causing it to overturn three times. The man was ejected from the vehicle, which came to a rest in the opposite direction. The man sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for further evaluation, state police said. - An incident of burglary/motor vehicle theft occurred Friday on Spring Street in Houtzdale Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly gained access to the keys to a 2015 black Ford Escape by breaking into the Jacob George Ford Garage. The incident remains under investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about an alleged scam in which a female was trying to obtain $2,000 from a local church.
- Police received a report in which a YouTube account was hacked and pornography uploaded to it.
- Police received several complaints over the past week about vehicles being keyed throughout town. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- A male walked into the police station to turn himself in for a warrant he held through Clearfield County. The Sheriff’s Department responded to take custody of the male.
- Police received a report about an alleged harassment incident, where a male followed another male down the street calling him a “weasel.” The male was warned for his actions, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged scam via phone, where people are asking for donations for a political campaign.
- Police responded to the playground along Woodland Road for kids allegedly breaking the swings.
- Police responded to a residence along East Seventh Street, where a male was allegedly found to hold two warrants through this department. The male was taken into custody, transported to the station and served the warrants.
- Police responded to Elk Avenue for a report about several vehicles allegedly being vandalized with food. The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call police.
- Police responded to an accident at the JG Food Warehouse. Upon arrival police learned that while attempting to park in a handicapped spot, the driver’s foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator, causing the vehicle to hit the building. No one was injured in the accident, police said.
- Police responded to a psychological call involving a female who was allegedly going to jump into the river. The female was located and crisis was called to speak with her for an evaluation, police said.
- Police responded to a Nichols Street residence for an alleged domestic dispute.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly threatening to kill a female. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police responded to a report involving an intoxicated male who was allegedly falling down at the train tracks along Nichols Street near Williams Street. Upon arrival police located an intoxicated male on the roadway. The male was taken into custody and discovered to be on probation; the probation office issued a detainer and the male was housed at the jail, police said.
- Police received a report about a suspicious red vehicle traveling along Spruce Street. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival to the area.
- Police responded to a Nichols Street address for a report about a male who was allegedly entering the caller’s apartment. Upon arrival police made contact with the caller and suspect. Police learned that the suspect was looking for his friend’s apartment, which was across the hall, and had the wrong door.
- Police responded to a Dorey Street address for a report about a male who was allegedly knocking on the caller’s apartment door. Upon arrival police made contact with the caller and suspect. Police learned that the suspect was looking for his friend’s apartment, which was across the hall, and had the wrong door.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged disruptive male at a local motel. Upon arrival police found a 59-year-old New York man had booked a room, which wasn’t pet friendly; however, he wanted his dog to stay with him. Staff members gave the male an option to upgrade for an extra fee for a pet friendly room, which caused him to become irate and refuse to leave. Police explained options to the male who left without further incident.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle that was parked in a driveway off of Charles Drive. The vehicle was gone prior to police arrival.
- While on patrol, police located a suspicious vehicle with two occupants in a local business parking lot. Police requested them to leave the lot as a result.
- While on patrol, police located an open door at a local business. Further, police found an employee at the scene.
Curwensville Borough
- Police would like to warn residents about an alleged scam in which the caller advises them about being sued by the IRS. The caller leaves a callback number to provide payment in order to resolve the matter. Police advise residents not to return the call.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of access device fraud. Further, the victim told police that their account was used to make unauthorized purchases.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment.
DuBois City
- A bear was spotted in the fourth ward section of DuBois City on Thursday. Police located the bear and it climbed up a tree. As a result, police backed off and contacted the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
- Police participated in an aggressive driving enforcement patrol during a four-hour block on Thursday. Fourteen citations were issued for various traffic violations, police said.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday a Beach Tree Road resident reported that their Irish Setter had left the area of their residence.
- On Wednesday a 39-year-old Hanes Drive man reported that his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend has been using his bank account without his permission. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a bear on the porch of a Tozier Avenue residence on Wednesday. The bear was gone upon police arrival.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at CVS Pharmacy on Thursday.
- Police responded to a minor accident in front of Wendy’s on Thursday. No injuries and minor damage were reported, police said.
- Wal-Mart employees reported several alleged theft incidents that were caught on camera. The incidents remain under investigation at this time, police said.
