CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Area United Way board member James Glade, right, of the Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital, is shown presenting two laptops to Sister Ruth Ann Madera of the Marian House.
The laptops will help the non-profit and their many houseguests. They are donated each year from First Energy due to a partnership Nancy Pinto of the CAUW initiated years ago.
“It was in response to the wish lists solicited from the 24 local member agencies, which in turn reach out to help people of all ages. We are pleased to continue to support Marian House, as it reaches out and makes a difference throughout Clearfield County,” stated Glade.
The CAUW is also seeking “new or gently used” children or teen books to distribute through its “Reading Ripples Project.” Three-thousand books have been given to children and teens to foster their love of reading.
