State police at Clearfield
- An incident of harassment occurred Friday on Cooper Avenue in Glen Hope Borough. During the incident, two women allegedly engaged in a verbal and physical altercation. Charges are being filed through the district court, state police said.
- An accident involving injuries occurred Sunday on Interstate 80 at mile-marker 111 in Pine Township. Further, the operator of a Jeep Wrangler was reportedly traveling too fast for roadway conditions and subsequently lost control. The Jeep exited the left side of the roadway and entered into the median, where it overturned numerous times before coming to a final rest. Both the operator and their passenger were wearing seatbelts and sustained moderate injuries, state police said.
- An incident of harassment occurred Sunday on Swoope Street in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, the suspect allegedly assaulted two victims and caused minor injury. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
- An accident occurred Sunday on Schoonover Road in Graham Township. Justin M. Lair of Morrisdale was traveling west and approaching its intersection with Deer Creek Road. He was reportedly traveling too fast for conditions and his vehicle exited off the shoulder of the roadway and impacted a tree. His vehicle was towed from the scene. Lair was wearing his seatbelt and not injured; he was cited for the accident, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Saturday and Monday on Brisbin Street in Houtzdale. During the incident, someone allegedly drove off the roadway and knocked over a wooden sign in front of a business. Damage is estimated at $250; the incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
State police at DuBois
- An accident occurred Friday on Hickory Road in Huston Township. Melissa Castro of Falls Creek was traveling north and negotiating an uphill grade on an intermittent patch of ice. Castro became distracted and her vehicle started to veer leftward; it then exited the left lane and traveled into a snow bank. After that her vehicle impacted a large tree before coming to a rest. Castro sustained minor injuries; she was cited for the accident, state police said.
- An incident of retail theft occurred Wednesday at the Goodwill Store in Winslow Township. During the incident, a known 16-year-old Reynoldsville girl allegedly took possession of various articles of clothing and exited the store without paying for them. The girl was subsequently arrested for retail theft, state police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- On Friday, a 21-year-old Philipsburg man was allegedly stopped for a traffic violation, at which time he was found with a loaded rifle in his back seat. He was subsequently cited for the incident, state police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a missing dog from Firetower Road.
- Police received a report about a possible structure fire on River Road. Upon investigation police found it was a controlled brush fire.
- Police received a report about a vehicle that was blocking traffic on the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway.
- Police received a report about a traffic violation involving an open container. This incident, police said, was referred to state police, as the motorist traveled onto the interstate.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle, non-reportable accident at Target Square.
- Police were contacted for information regarding a possible warrant.
- Police received a report regarding damage to an unattended vehicle. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police were contacted for public assistance.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle along the Clearfield – Shawville Highway. Police found the individuals were making arrangements to move the vehicle.
- Police received a report about a vehicle accident on Daisy Street Extension. No injuries were reported, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance in the area of Powell Avenue.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct in the area of Flegal Road. However, the actor left the scene prior to police arrival.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a local business.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident on Route 879. No injuries were reported, police said.
- Police received a report about a deer on Route 879.
- Police received a report about an accident on Supercenter Drive.
- Police received a report about an accident on River Road.
DuBois City
- Police responded to a silent, hold-up alarm Friday at a local bank. While en route, police were advised it was an accidental alarm. Police responded to the scene and confirmed the same.
- Police received a report about a vehicle fire Friday in the 100 block of South Main Street. Fire crews responded quickly and extinguished the flames, said police. Upon investigation police found the vehicle was equipped with aftermarket wiring that shorted, overheated and caused the fire. Police noted the vehicle sustained minimal damage, and it was driven from the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged fight involving a group of juveniles Friday in the 600 block of East DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival police found the juveniles had fled the area; it was reported that one male had parked in another one and was yelling and cursing. No suspects have been identified and no further action will be taken at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance Saturday in the 300 block of Pifer Street. Further, police were advised a man and woman were arguing with each other; upon arrival police found they had left the area. Police subsequently searched the area with negative results.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Saturday in the 300 block of East Park Avenue. Further, a resident reported that sometime overnight his 2012 GMC Arcadia was struck while parked along the street. Police, however, were unable to locate any evidence; the accident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about an alleged burglary in progress Saturday in the 700 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival the caller advised police they heard someone pounding and saw a flashlight searching the area. While checking a nearby residence, police heard a woman yelling, and made contact with her, a male and an infant son. All three advised they were OK and didn’t need police assistance. The woman stated she had been upset and police asked her to lower her voice.
- On Saturday, police received a report from a resident in the 300 block of Quarry Avenue who was allegedly being harassed and bullied over the Internet. He told police that a Reynoldsville female sent him messages, harassing him. While interviewing him, the man allegedly admitted to police he’d sent the female threats over the Internet prior to her harassing him. Police determined that no crimes occurred within their jurisdiction.
- In addition to the above incidents, DuBois City police responded to numerous calls of service, medical emergencies, psychological emergencies and animal complaints.
- Police participated in a roving patrol with the Clearfield County DUI Strike Force on Saturday. Police patrolled DuBois City with a special interest in detecting and deterring drunk driving. During the detail, police made 16 traffic stops, which resulted in two citations, 15 warnings and one DUI.
- For the week of March 8-15, police initiated 65 traffic stops, which resulted in 55 citations and 28 warnings.
Sandy Township
- Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute Friday at a Haines Drive residence. Further, a 26-year-old man and his 32-year-old girlfriend were engaged in a verbal argument. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Friday, a 65-year-old Brockway woman reported that she was at the DuBois Mall and someone had stolen her vehicle. Police located the vehicle in a different area of the parking lot.
- On Friday, a 19-year-old Punxsutawney woman reported that a 27-year-old DuBois man took her new registration and sticker from her purse. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- A truck driver reported that while he was in Pilot on Saturday, someone impacted and caused minor damage to the mirror on his truck.
- A 56-year-old Treasure Lake woman reported that her 49-year-old ex-boyfriend would not leave her residence Saturday after she told him to. Police responded and talked to both parties; the man was cited for trespassing.
- A 25-year-old Falls Creek man was pulled over for driving erratically Sunday. When police approached the vehicle, they suspected the man had been drinking. After failing field sobriety testing, the man was taken to Penn Highlands for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- On Sunday, a Hungry Hollow Road resident reported that a 26-year-old woman was at their residence and not wanted there. Police handled the situation without incident.
