Friends of Parker Dam
Ice skating sessions are scheduled from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Fridays and from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Saturdays until the ice becomes unsafe. At these skating sessions, skate rentals are available, as well as hot chocolate, hot dogs and chili from the Friends of Parker Dam. The skating area (not skate rentals) is open daily during normal park hours (8 a.m. – dusk), after any snow on the rink has been cleared by park staff. Mahaffey Camp
A mother/daughter retreat will be held March 13-14 at the Mahaffey Camp. It will offer coffee and cappuccino time, a baking party, spa time and crafting as well as sessions with the retreat speakers. You can come learn how real maple syrup is made each Saturday and Sunday afternoon throughout the season. Learn the sweet story of maple sugaring, how it was discovered, how it was made years ago and how you can make it today.
Learn to identify maple trees in winter, how to choose the right trees for tapping, where to place the taps and so on. A few lucky participants will tap a maple tree, gather in the sap and help out. Best part – there will be free taste samples of pure maple syrup for all visitors.

Trail Blazer Adventures has announced 2015 Winter Adventures, including XC ski and snowshoe, weather conditions permitting, through March 15.
Trail Blazer Adventures will meet at Aletta’s Farm Market (located on the Curwensville/Grampian Highway) every Sunday at 2 p.m. to snowshoe/XC-ski the Clearfield/Grampian Rail-Trail or Bilger’s Rocks Trails.
After trail-blazing at your own pace, everyone will meet at the Place of Rocks Roadhouse for refreshments.

Play Performance: Painting Churches
Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre
The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre will open its season with the comedy/drama, Painting Churches, which is written by Tina Howe. The show will run March 19, 20, 21 and March 26, 27, 28.
The story centers around the relationship between an artist daughter and her aging parents. Gardner and Fanny Church are preparing to move out of their Beacon Hill house to their summer cottage on Cape Cod.
