C. Ruth Bowman, 80, of Curwensville died Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born Jan. 9, 1935 in Madera, a daughter of the late Russell and Mary (Peacock) Bateman.
Mrs. Bowman was employed as a registered nurse at the Clearfield Hospital all of her life. She was always respected for continuing to pursue higher education, earning multiple Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
She was Episcopalian by faith.
She is survived by three sons, Mark Bowman of West Decatur, Gregory Bowman and his wife, Diane of DuBois and Jeffrey Bowman and his wife, Sue of North Carolina.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Jillian Bowman, Bethany Stevens and Theodore J. Bowman II; three great-grandsons; five step-granddaughters; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore J. Bowman, on March 1, 1992 and whom she wed May 26, 1956. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sherry Bowman.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in the Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Hospital Nurses Alumni Scholarship Fund, 612 Arnold Ave., Clearfield, or to the Ridgeview Eldercare and Rehabilitation Center, 30 Fourth Ave., Curwensville.
