PHILIPSBURG – A 33-year-old Philipsburg man was flown to Altoona after a hit-and-run accident Thursday in Philipsburg Borough.
According to state police at Philipsburg, the male was walking on West Presqueisle Street towards Philipsburg. He reportedly fell onto the roadway.
A dark-colored sports utility vehicle was traveling east and struck the male. The operator of the SUV then fled towards Front Street, state police said.
The male suffered an open fracture to his lower, left leg. He was subsequently flown to the Altoona Hospital, state police said.
State police were assisted at the accident scene by the Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services.
