David Brock, the conservative journalist and operative turned Hillary Clinton defender, will publish a book later this year about the 2016 election, according to his publisher.
Paul Samuelson, spokesman for Twelve Publishing, an imprint of Hachette, said Brock’s book — “Killing The Messenger: Clintonland, Kochville and the Battle for 2016” — is set to be published in September, but a specific date hasn’t been nailed down.
The book, which was first reported on by the New York Times, “disarms the major tentacles of the Republican Leviathan: the Koch Brothers, the Obama witch hunters, and the Fox Machine,” according to the publisher.
Brock will, the Twelve catalog reads “take readers inside the Democratic war rooms and the 24/7 battle with right-wing forces for dominance in the 2016 campaign.”
Brock is the founder of pro-Clinton messaging group Correct the Record and liberal opposition research juggernaut American Bridge.
He recently found himself at the center of a split in the pro-Clinton world when he resigned from a super PAC board over, what he called, “an orchestrated political hit job” against him by other Democrats. Brock remains separated from the board.
This will be Brock’s seventh book. His first two – “The Real Anita Hill” and “The Seduction of Hillary Rodham” were anti-Clinton books. But in 2002, Brock wrote “Blinded by the Right,” a book about how he went from conservative oppositions researcher to leaving the movement.
He has since written three other books about the media.
