Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 879 and Wolf Run Road. No injuries were reported and towing wasn’t required, police said.
- Police received a report about a motorist who was possibly driving under the influence on Old Town Road towards the Hyde light. Upon arrival in the area, police were unable to locate the vehicle. However, while on patrol, police located the vehicle on West Front Street and conducted a traffic stop. Upon investigation police found the motorist was not intoxicated but an elderly gentleman from the Johnstown area. Police contacted his family who transported him to his residence in Johnstown.
- Police received a report about an alleged misuse of a motor vehicle.
- Police received a report about a burglary alarm at a local business. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a parking complaint that occurred on West Front Street. Further, police checked the area.
DuBois City
- While on patrol Wednesday, police observed a minor, two-vehicle accident on Liberty Boulevard. Upon investigation police found that there weren’t any injuries; both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance Wednesday on East Weber Avenue. Upon arrival a juvenile female told police that she was physically abused by her mother, grandmother and uncle. When speaking with the juvenile, police didn’t observe any of the alleged injuries. Police subsequently contacted the juvenile’s mother who advised the juvenile had returned home from school and started throwing a temper tantrum. The juvenile’s uncle told police that he had to grab her hand to keep her from striking her mother. Police handled the incident without any charges.
- Police received a report about an adult male who was allegedly assaulting a juvenile Wednesday in the area of First Street. Upon police arrival, the juvenile said he had accidentally hit the male’s daughter with a snowball. As a result, he said the male picked him up and threw him to the ground. When police spoke to the male, he said that he yelled at the juvenile for throwing balls of ice at his daughters. He also told police that he chased the juvenile but never touched him. The incident remains under investigation with charges currently pending, police said.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident Wednesday on East DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival it was found that the operator of a Monte Carlo had rear-ended a Ford pick-up truck. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday, a tractor-trailer driver attempted to turn onto Breck Road from South Brady Street and got stuck in the snow. His truck was partially over a bank and had to be towed out. No injuries were reported, police said.
- A vehicle driven by a 56-year-old DuBois man slid off the roadway Wednesday on Route 219 and got stuck on the berm. The vehicle was towed out, and driven from the scene, police said.
- On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by a Reynoldsville man slid off the roadway while traveling on Behringer Highway. It got stuck on the side of the road. No injuries were reported, police said.
- On Thursday, a 42-year-old DuBois woman reported that her 33-year-old ex-boyfriend was threatening to harm himself. Police responded to the Denton Avenue residence and the man agreed to being transported to Penn Highlands.
- Police received a report that a small child had called 9-1-1 Thursday because he could not get his mother up. After being sent to the wrong area, police were able to locate the home from which the call came from and determine the mother was napping and did not want to get up. The situation was handled without incident.
- On Thursday, a 27-year-old Haines Drive man reported receiving a scam e-mail, telling him he owed money on a credit card he does not possess.
