There will also be an open ice skating session on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. The park has many skates of various sizes, which will be available for rental (only during scheduled skating sessions) from the Friends of Parker Dam organization at $2 per pair for the entire 3 hours (may not be able to accommodate all visitors- first come, first served). Parker Dam State Park is located at 28 Fairview Rd., Penfield.

Treasure Lake
Saturday, Jan. 17
Winterfest at Treasure Lake will start at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 with the polar plunge and 5K at the Marina. There will also be a sled derby, winter games, chili and chowder contest and more. Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center
Saturday, Jan. 17
Visitors are invited to the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center for a Snow Day on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Visitors will have some winter fun with the Snow Day activities, including the Penguin Shuffle, a Snowball Fight, Snowball Relay and Wii Snow Games. Plus, visitors will enjoy the exhibits and have snowball cookies and hot cocoa. There isn’t any need to pre-register or sign up, just come in. It is $5 per person, regular admission, and children who are 2 years and under are free. The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is located at 201 N. Findley St., Punxsutawney. Trail Blazer Adventures

Trail Blazer Adventures has announced 2015 Winter Adventures, including XC ski and snowshoe, weather conditions permitting, through March 15.
Trail Blazer Adventures will meet at Aletta’s Farm Market (located on the Curwensville/Grampian Highway) every Sunday at 2 p.m. to snowshoe/XC-ski the Clearfield/Grampian Rail-Trail or Bilger’s Rocks Trails.
After trail-blazing at your own pace, everyone will meet at the Place of Rocks Roadhouse for refreshments.
