CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Lucia Anna Castro, 23, of Youngs Avenue, Lock Haven. Castro is wanted for failure to appear at ARD Court on Sept. 23.
On Aug. 22, 2013, Trooper Brian Elensky of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Castro. He charged Castro wit driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, reckless driving, windshield obstructions and wipers, required financial responsibility, careless driving, registration card to be signed and exhibited on demand and additional parking regulations.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on July 24, 2013, state police were dispatched to Interstate 80 for an alleged erratic driver. Upon arrival state police approached a vehicle that was pulled off the roadway at mile-marker 123.
Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Elensky detected signs of impairment and requested that Castro perform field sobriety tests. Afterward Castro was transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for blood tests. It was also determined that Castro’s driver’s license had previously been suspended.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Sept. 18, 2013, at which time all charges were held for court. On Sept. 23, Castro failed to appear for ARD Court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Castro is described as an African-American female standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall. She has brown hair and eyes.
Anyone with knowledge of Castro’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
