CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Nov. 24.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Alyssa Renee Berasi, 35, of Bennetts Valley Highway, Force. Berasi is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on Oct. 30.
On May 12, Trooper Brett Rusnica of the Pennsylvania State Police, DuBois barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Berasi. He charged Berasi with driving under the influence of alcohol; driving on right side of the roadway; careless driving; occupant protection; and operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, at 1:30 a.m. March 25, state police were on routine patrol on Anderson Creek Road, Union Township. Troopers observed a vehicle that was stopped in the southbound lane of travel.
As troopers approached the vehicle, it started to travel southbound without having its headlights on. It was also traveling on the wrong side of the roadway.
Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Rusnica detected signs of impairment and requested that Berasi perform field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Berasi was transported to the DuBois Penn Highlands Hospital for blood testing.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 6, at which time all charges were held for court. On Oct. 30, Berasi failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Berasi is described as a Caucasian female standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall. She has brown eyes and black hair.
Anyone with knowledge of Berasi’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
