Alice M. Walker, 78, of Philipsburg and formerly of Hawk Run died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born March 7, 1936 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Quick) Hilderbrand. She married the Rev. William Walker on Nov. 24, 1974 at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hawk Run; he survives in Hawk Run.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Philipsburg. She was also a member of the Daughters of the King Guild with the Chapel of the Good Shepherd of Episcopal Church in Hawk Run. She was a homemaker and mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Slother and Mary Chutko and two brothers, George and Jerry Hilderbrand.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Walker is survived by a son, Dr. Charles William Walker and his wife, Dr. Susan Walker of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Saloma Cartwright and her husband, Ronald of Hawk Run and Verda “Beddie” Tarbay of Pleasant Hill, RD Philipsburg; and a brother, John “Jack” Hilderbrand of Pleasant Hill, RD Philipsburg.
She is also survived by a grandson, Christopher Walker of Baltimore, Md., and several nieces and nephews.
A Eucharist and burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Philipsburg with the Rev. Dr. John F. Hoover officiating. Burial will be at the Ashcroft Cemetery in Hawk Run.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg.
