State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of burglary/theft occurred sometime Sept. 5-8 in the 200 block of North Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly entered an apartment building and removed a table and chairs, which were sitting in the hallway. Also, someone allegedly removed a toolbox and tools from another nearby apartment building.
- An incident of theft by deception occurred Oct. 8 in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, the victim allegedly sent money to an unknown purchaser to cover shipping costs for items that the victim had available for sale.
Clearfield Borough
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged incident of harassment by communications. Further, a 17-year-old juvenile told police that a 19-year-old man was harassing her on social media.
- Police received a report about an alleged verbal domestic dispute between a 38-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man on East Walnut Street.
- Police were requested to check on a suspicious man on Weaver Street. The man, Matthew Harvey, 27, was found to have warrants from Centre County. The Centre County Sheriff’s Department responded to take Harvey into custody, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft of services from the Clearfield Municipal Authority. Further, a CMA representative told police that a meter on an apartment building on East Locust Street may have a bypass installed on the waterline to avoid the water meter. The CMA representative told police that the meter has been showing that no water is being used and the owners haven’t cooperated regarding the matter. The CMA noted to police that this is the third incident with the owners for installing bypasses on their waterline. Police noted that the CMA does not wish to pursue charges on the owner.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a dog complaint and notified the dog law officer.
- Police received a report about an alleged burglary at a residence on Calvary Road. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about shots being fired in the Hyde area. Upon arrival police searched the area but couldn’t locate anyone.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of someone on Barn Road.
- Police received a report about custody issues.
- Police received a report about a civil issue.
- Police received a noise complaint that occurred in Hillsdale.
- Police received a report about a vehicle accident involving a deer on Montgomery Run Road.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle Monday on River Street. The vehicle was removed prior to police arrival.
- Police allegedly found two persons in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia Saturday in the area of Irvin Park.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of trespass at an abandoned residence on George Street that occurred sometime over the past weekend. Police will provide extra patrols to the area.
- Police received two reports about incidents of harassment on Tuesday. Both were in relation to telephone calls, police said.
- Police received reports about alleged incidents of assault and harassment Tuesday at the Curwensville Commons. Both incidents were handled at the scene, police said.
Sandy Township
- On Monday, police were called to the Tri-County Church for a man who was allegedly causing a disturbance while attempting to pick up his child. Upon arrival police found that the man had left the scene. However, police said a 54-year-old DuBois woman produced a court order giving her emergency custody of her grandson. Police said the 34-year-old Brockport man who is the child’s father arrived at the church demanding his son. Police located the man and handled the situation without incident.
- K-Mart employees reported witnessing a 23-year-old DuBois woman taking items from the store without paying for them on Monday. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday, a 71-year-old man reported receiving a phone call from an individual with a New Jersey accent claiming to be his grandson who was involved in an accident and needed money. Police said that the man recognized it as a scam and when he started asking questions, the caller hung up the phone.
