Robert J. Raymond, 65, of Woodland died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at Clearfield Penn Highlands. Born Jan. 2, 1949 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Robert P. and Martha Yatchik Raymond.
Mr. Raymond was a veteran of the Vietnam era from 1969-72. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Raymond was a member of the Moshannon Valley Free & Accepted Masons, No. 391, Philipsburg, where he was past master in 2002.
He was the owner and operator of RJ Raymond Trucking. In 1978, he opened the RJ Garage, which closed in 1997. He had also worked for Alleghany Trucking Inc. until he was hired by PennDOT from where he retired in 2009. He then opened RJ’s Garage II in Woodland.
He was married to Cindy Dixon Raymond, who survives of Woodland. He’s also survived by a daughter, Dawneen R. Raymond of Harrisburg and a son, Robert P. Raymond of Browns Summit, NC.
Mr. Raymond is also survived by a sister, Diane Mary Switala of Morrisdale and three brothers, Kenneth L. Raymond and Ronald L. Raymond, both of Grassflat, and Donald L. Raymond of York.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale. Members of the Moshannon Valley F&AM, No. 391, of Philipsburg will be officiating.
Burial will be in the Bigler Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. and a masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Both the viewing and masonic service will be at the funeral home.
