KYLERTOWN – The Kylertown Community Association will hold its first-ever Haunted Hayride event from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday.
The hayride will travel over a 45- minute route beginning and ending at the Kylertown athletic field. The route encircles the former Ames Airport grounds and North runway.
Local legend says the Ames Airport grounds are haunted. This story, as well as other haunting tales, will be told during the hayride event. “Hauntings” and other attractions will occur at various locations along the route.
For the children, there will be a friendly hayride, which will take them in a circle around one of the baseball diamonds. The children’s hayride will never leave sight of the loading area, allowing parents some peace of mind for their children’s safety.
In addition, there will be children’s activities and games in the athletic field’s picnic pavilion to provide a fun evening for the little ones. The athletic field’s concession stand will be open both evenings. Coffee, hot chocolate, soda, sloppy joes, hotdogs and pumpkin pie will be served there.
The Kylertown Community Association would like to thank a growing list of local businesses that have made a donation to help make the hayride possible. The list includes J&T Farming of Kylertown, the Larson family of Kylertown, Adler’s Market of Philipsburg, Earthmovers of Kylertown, Clearfield County Metal of Morrisdale, Nepoli Pizza of Kylertown, Fisch Dairy Farm of Kylertown, Zetts Fish Hatchery of Drifting and Six Yellow Chairs of Lanse.
The association asks for a $3 donation for the hayride; the children’s hayride is a donation of $1. Proceeds will be used by the Kylertown Community Association for a variety of community projects.
The association helps maintain the Kylertown athletic fields, which is home to the community’s Little League baseball program. The funds raised directly affect the association’s ability to maintain and make improvements to the facilities.
