John H. Daub Sr., 71, of Clearfield died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at Penn Highlands Clearfield. He was born Nov. 13, 1942 in Curwensville, a son of the late Gilbert and Goldie (McCracken) Daub.
Mr. Daub had been employed by Target Sportswear, Berg Electronics, Piper Aircraft and Marathon. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was a past member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 and the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served with the U.S. Army.
He’s survived by his wife, Beverly A. (Heichel) Daub, whom he wed Dec. 31, 1966 at the Curwensville Missionary and Alliance Church.
He’s survived by three sons, Duane Daub, Timothy Daub and his wife, Amy and John Daub Jr. and his wife, Amanda, all of Clearfield; six grandchildren, Shane, Eric, Curtis, Alex, Rylee and Savanna Daub; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Graham and Betty J. Lenhart; four brothers, Harold, Samuel Sr., Donald and Gilbert Daub; a nephew, Samuel Daub Jr.; and a niece, JoEllen Daub.
Mr. Daub was the last surviving member of his generation.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
