The expo will feature a Big Rig show, parade, trucker games and truck pulls. The truck pulls will be held Saturday evening and tickets are $13 for adults and $6 for kids (ages 5-10 years). Pit passes will also be available for $20. Admission to the expo is free. The expo will also feature a ‘Light the Night’ parade, truck judging and more.

The public is invited to the Liddle Gallery to view fine arts and crafts displayed by Pennsylvania artists and crafters. Featured artists for August include Andrew Hoover, Gloria Rowles and Jane Lee Yare.

Brandon Giuffre
Corner Concert Series
Friday, Sept. 5
Local musician Brandon Giuffre will entertain at the final Corner Concert this Friday at the Shaw Park in downtown Clearfield.
Giuffre has been active in the local music scene for many years. He’s currently playing regularly as a solo act, “Brandon Acoustified.”
Giuffre’s performance will include modern and classic rock with a little twist of southern rock. Music will get under way at 7 p.m., weather permitting.
This year’s events are used to raise money and awareness for the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre. The CAST is a non-profit, live performance theater and arts center in downtown Clearfield.

Farmers Market, downtown DuBois
Saturday, Sept. 6
The downtown DuBois farmers markets will continue every Saturday through Oct. 25. The farmers markets will be open from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Long Avenue and Brady Street parking lot.

Coalport Flea Market

There is a flea market the first Saturday of the month through September. It is held from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. You can bring your yard sale items and there’s always room for vendors, crafters, businesses, individuals, etc. Church, school groups and non-profits are all welcome.

Coalport Farmers Market

There is a farmers market the first Saturday of every month through October. It will be held in the Beechwood Park along with the Coalport Flea Market each month.
Set-up will begin at 6:30 a.m. and the market is open from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. You are invited to participate by just showing up. The farmers market vendors are limited to various food products and plants.
This is an open-air market. You will need to bring your own tables, chairs, canopies, etc. The sizes of available spaces are unlimited at this time, as there’s a lot of room in the park currently available. There is a set-up fee of $10 per vendor per day.

A Piano Duo Trip on the Wild Side

Cultural Resources Inc. proudly presents Marc Gelfand and Eloise Pifer Rice in their 11 piano duo performance, A Piano Duo Trip on the Wild Side, on Sunday, Sept. 7, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Reitz Theater in DuBois.
Also featured in the musical program will be pianist, Danny Trunzo of Brockway and vocalists, Lydia Crooks of Clarion and Chris Tarcson and Autumn Carlson, both of DuBois.
The concert will open with the group performing “Up, Up and Away in My Beautiful Balloon,” as they take the audience on an African Safari with “Born Free,” “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “The Baby Elephant Walk.”
Other musical selections to be included in the program will be “Born To Be Wild,” “Wild Thing” and “Walk on the Wild Side.”

Natural Cleaners for Green Wednesday Program

Parker Dam State Park will be featuring “Green Wednesdays” throughout September. Join one of the park’s educators each September Wednesday evening in the Environmental Education Classroom at 6 p.m. to learn methods we can each use to live more naturally, keep common toxins out of our homes, save money and reduce our environmental footprint.
Why go natural and avoid commercial cleaners? Well, when you learn of what is contained in many commercial cleaners, you may understand. Participants will learn more about what is toxic and harmful in many store-bought cleaners. Then they will discover how to make their own natural cleaners to use at home. You may even be surprised at how well these cleaners work and in some cases- work better, for your cleaning needs.
