Robert Stephen Fooks, 84, a resident of South Philipsburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at Clearfield Penn Highlands.
Born Dec. 3, 1929 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Carl Fooks Sr. and Annie (Sicks) Fooks.
On Feb. 14, 1958 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, he wed Jean (Kinkead) Fooks, who preceded him in death on June 1, 2013.
Mr. Fooks was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg. He was also a member of the Hemlock Rod & Gun Club (of which he was a founding member) and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Fooks was an avid hunter and craftsman.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a 1948 graduate of Philipsburg High School. He was a supervisor of the trades, office of the physical plant at Penn State University. He retired in 1990.
Mr. Fooks is survived by a daughter, Ella Ann Forcey and her husband, Lynn of Philipsburg; a granddaughter, Stephanie Forcey; three nephews; two nieces; and a sister-in-law, Delores Kinkead of Wichita, Kan.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Fooks and Carl Fooks Jr. and two sisters, Margaret Butterworth and Betty Day.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, with the Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating.
Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
