Madolene G. Ferut, 94, of DuBois died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
Born April 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Kathryn (Pruzinsky) Krishart.
She was married to Walter C. Ferut. He preceded her in death in 1960. She then married Donald J. Platt, who preceded her in death in 1976.
She was retired from Rockwell International Manufacturing after 20 years of service. Prior to that, she worked at B.F. Goodrich for 28 years.
She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Punxsutawney Groundhog Polka Booster Club. She enjoyed polka dancing and bowling, as well as gardening and canning.
She’s survived by two sons, Daniel Ferut and his wife, Karen and Walter Ferut, both of DuBois; two daughters, Denise Ferut of Fort Mill, SC and Yvonne Shaffer and her husband, David of Holly, NY.
She’s survived by three sisters, Irene Acuff of Charleston, SC; Geraldine Mitravich of DuBois; and Viola Fischer of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one brother, Michael Krishart and his wife, Rita of DuBois; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerome Krishart and her sister, Violet Windham.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
