William B. Reed, 63, of Smithmill died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at UPMC Altoona. Born Sept. 23, 1950 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Howard and Louise (Myers) Reed.
On Sept. 22, 1973 in Utahville, he wed the former Patricia A. Kuhn, who survives him, along with a son, Bill Reed and his wife, Toni and one grandson, Michael Reed, all of Smithmill. He’s also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He retired in 2006 from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 36 years. He was elected as Gulich Township Supervisor and had served the township for three years.
He was a member of Janesville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Scott Reed, who died on May 28, 1997; one brother, Howard Reed Jr.; and one sister, Laura Jean Davis.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday   and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kruise Funeral Homes Inc.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Clare L. Pannebaker officiating. Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
