Anna M. Hassinger, 71, of Morrisdale died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at her residence. Born Aug. 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Reggie and Daisy Smeal Bumbarger.
Mrs. Hassinger was a member of the Gearhartville Free Methodist Church. She also went bowling every Friday morning. Mrs. Hassinger retired as a certified nursing assistant from the Presbyterian Home, Philipsburg, after 24 years.
She was married to Robert Hassinger on Nov. 8, 1958 in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church. He survives in Morrisdale.
She’s survived by two daughters, Cindy Woolworth and her husband, Bill of Philipsburg and Sonya Johnston and her husband, Charles of Clearfield and one son, Robert Hassinger and his wife, Maryann of Philipsburg.
Mrs. Hassinger is also survived by a sister, Gertrude Bumbarger-Peoples of California and four grandchildren, Bryan, Katie and Jacob Hassinger and Bethany Woolworth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Winfield, Robert, Gerald, Clinton, Arden and Reggie Bumbarger and Marvin and Richard Foster, her sisters, Betty and Violet, an infant brother and sister and two infant grandchildren, Krista Marie and Brittany Woolworth.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Centre Cemetery, Philipsburg.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
