Betty Lou Batcho, 89, a beloved mother and grandmother, of Clearfield went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Clearfield Penn Highlands.
Born Jan. 1, 1925 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Clarissa (Webster) Visnofsky.
In her early years, she worked with her father at Eisenberg’s grocery store in Houtzdale. Later in life, she worked with her husband in the family business, Batcho Business Machines.
Her greatest joy was family. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and crocheting and was also an avid bowler in mid-life. She was known as a gentle, pleasant person who treated everyone with kindness.
She was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield.
She’s survived by four children, Betty Jean Gormont and her husband, Walter, Andrew Glen Batcho and his wife, Linda and Diane Kesner and her husband, Kim, all of Clearfield, and Doris ‘Dorie’ White and her husband, Charles of Curwensville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Visnofsky and his wife, Ima Jean of Clearfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew ‘Andy’ Batcho on April 29, 2012; a son, Ernest Jack Batcho; and a great-grandson, Damian Gormont.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield, or to the American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second St., Clearfield or to the West Side United Methodist Church, 317 Nichols St., Clearfield.
