Mae Winters, 79, of Philipsburg died Friday July 18, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born Aug. 29, 1934 in Morris Township, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Batcho) Sheroke.
She married Floyd W. Winters on June 7, 1953 at the former Ohio E.U.B Church (Morgan Run), Osceola Mills; he preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2012.
Mrs. Winters was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God in Philipsburg.
She was a homemaker. She graduated from the former Morris Township High School in the class of 1953.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Ryver, Josephine Dysart and Laura Grace Myers and a brother, John R. Sheroke.
Mrs. Winters is survived by a daughter, Judith Chilcot and her husband, Richard of Woodbridge, Va. and two sons, the Rev. Daniel B. Winters and his wife, Bonnie of Philipsburg and Timothy Winters and his wife, Tammy of West Decatur.
She’s also survived by four sisters, Marie McCleland and her husband, Lester of State College; Shirley Kelce and her husband, Donald and Mary Hughes and her husband, Joseph, both of Philipsburg, and Joanna Anawald and her husband, Donald of Anawald-Corfu, NY; two brothers, Richard Sheorke of Bethel and Robert Sheroke and his wife, Mary of Morrisdale; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will at 11a.m. Wednesday at the Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God in Philipsburg with the Rev. Robert Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at the Baughman Cemetery in Houtzdale.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral service at the church.
