DUBOIS – Touch-A-Truck Day will return on Sept. 13 from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the DuBois Wal-Mart parking lot. An adult must be present to accompany children as they enter the roped-off area for this “kid-citing,” fun time.
Although it’s a free event, children are asked to bring a canned food item for the DuBois Area Food Bank. Organizers want to encourage children to help feed other children.
There will be a display of “trucks” and special vehicles for everyone to explore, sit behind the wheel, honk the horn and pretend to drive. It’s an opportunity to be ‘up-close-and-personal’ with the vehicles they see every day.
Children can come and see the police and fire department vehicles, huge tri-axle trucks, a skid-steer, a cement truck, an ice cream truck, tractor-trailers, the Rolling Radio, an ambulance, a 12-ton satellite truck, a new garbage truck, a side-by-side, an all-terrain vehicle and more.
If a company wishes to participate with a vehicle, or if you have other questions, call the DuBois Chamber at 814-371-5010.
Event sponsors – the Greater DuBois Chamber of Commerce, DuBois Wal-Mart and the DuBois Kiwanis Club – urge everyone to attend and support the many businesses and companies taking their time to support the community.
