Detour will be in place
ANSONVILLE – Work to rehabilitate a bridge near Ansonville will start Monday and will feature a detour. The bridge is on Tyrone Turnpike Highway in Ferguson Township.
When work is complete, PennDOT will be able to remove the bridge from Clearfield County’s structurally deficient list and area drivers will enjoy travel across a modern structure.
The bridge is located one mile south of Kerrmoor and spans Campbell Run. Originally built in 1938, the current bridge is 19 feet long and carries over 700 vehicles each day.
The replacement work requires closing the bridge and a detour will be in place. The detour uses Routes 53 (Glen Hope Boulevard), 153 (Ginter Morann Highway/Morann Avenue), 879 (Grampian Highway), and 969 (Lumber City Highway). The closure and detour will be in effect for 6 weeks beginning Monday.
Swank Construction Company of New Kensington is the contractor on this project. Overall work includes substructure and superstructure repairs, new guide rail, and paving. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
Drivers are reminded to follow official detour signs, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
