CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) Design Committee, in conjunction with CNB Bank, organized the second Downtown Beautification Day on Saturday in Clearfield.
Almost 75 community volunteers joined together to landscape tree boxes and clean the sidewalks, preparing the downtown for the summer season. More than 65 tree boxes were weeded, mulched and planted with flowers.
In addition, the Clearfield Middle School Student Council students and the Clearfield High School varsity basketball team weeded and planted flowers in Shaw Park and at the Clearfield Borough Administrative Offices.
Lower Witmer Park was also cleaned and new flowers were planted at the gazebo.
The CRC encourages everyone to take a stroll through downtown to see the great work of the community volunteers.
Community volunteers helping with Beautification Day include: CNB Bank, The Helping Hands Club, Clearfield Borough council members, Clearfield Borough employees, Clearfield Borough police and mayor, CMS Student Council, CHS varsity basketball team and several individuals.
Main Street Manager Heather Bozovich stated, “The Clearfield community is very fortunate to have such great people who are willing to work together for the betterment of our town.
“It is truly amazing to have volunteers from all different ages come together and work on making our downtown beautiful and inviting. We want to stay thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this project possible.”
The CRC also wanted to thank the Wal-Mart Distribution Center No. 6027, Tammy’s Garden and Swisher Concrete for supplies. The CRC also thanks members of its Design Committee for leading the event.
Bozovich added, “This truly is a collective effort by the businesses and volunteers. For the second year, the CNB Bank has encouraged their employees to give back to the community through volunteering their time. CNB employees are the driving force behind the success of Beautification Day.”
CNB Chief Operating Officer Richard Greslick stated, “This event is a great example of the volunteerism that exists with our CNB staff.
“Even through rain and cooler temperatures, we had a great time making our town beautiful for all of our community and visitors to enjoy. The Clearfield community is more than just where CNB employees work, it’s where we live.”
