DUBOIS – The DuBois Business College (DBC), Philipsburg, is now an official part of the DBC family. This was made official by the recent ribbon cutting ceremony held at the new facility.
Working with the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership (MVEDP), DBC’s newest location is a satellite site at 200 Shady Ln., Philipsburg.
Stan LaFuria, executive director of MVEDP; John Shimko, president of the MVEDP board; Jeff Herr, president of MVEDP; Rep. Matt Gabler; Rep. Tommy Sankey; Rep. Scott Conklin; Michael Pipe, Centre County commissioner, Jackie Syktich, president/chief executive officer of DuBois Business College; Karen Alderton, vice president of DBC; and Mary Jones, academic dean of DBC; were on hand to facilitate the establishment of the Philipsburg site as a location to further meet the higher educational needs of the Philipsburg community and surrounding area. The first classes have already started as of the April term.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was preceded by a time of meeting and greeting in which local community leaders could actually tour the new facility and talk with the local staff and other staff members and instructors at DBC. Refreshments were provided to those who took part in the celebration.
An educational opportunity, such as this newest site, makes DBC a leader in providing educational opportunities in the Philipsburg area and gives students the skills needed to help them “Touch the Future Faster.”™ DBC’s main campus in DuBois, as well as the other campus locations in Huntingdon and Oil City shares in the celebration and grand opening of the newest location in Philipsburg.
