CLEARFIELD – The sixth annual Clearfield Chamber of Commerce Wing Fling was held Saturday at the Expo II Building at the Clearfield Driving Park.
This year, more than 400 enthusiasts taste-tested wings from six participants. Participating were Adam’s Golden Grill, Railroad Street Tavern, Fun Central, Pizza Hut, Place of the Rocks Roadhouse and the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center.
Each participant provided wings for the attendees. Contests were held for the cleanest wing; there was also a wing-eating contest. There were 50/50 raffles and a Chinese auction.
Matt Day emceed the event with music, and there were activities for children sponsored by the Hyde Wesleyan Church. The “Cooking with the Chamber” cookbook was available for purchase along with Chamber T-shirts.
Judges for the Wing Fling were Master Judge Pat Domico, State Reps. Tommy Sankey and Matt Gabler, Jim Naddeo of Naddeo & Lewis LLC and Deven Clarke, reporter, WJAC-TV.
The People’s Choice winner of the television donated by Wal-Mart Distribution Center was Adam’s Golden Grill and of Judge’s Choice was Fun Central. The Spirit Award went to Pizza Hut, while the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center won the award for the Amateur Division.
