State police at Clearfield
- A DUI-related accident occurred Wednesday on state Route 4016 in Union Township. Further, a 53-year-old DuBois woman was traveling southbound when her vehicle exited the roadway. It subsequently struck a tree head-on off of the west shoulder. The woman was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of moderate injuries. State police noted it’s believed that the woman was under the influence of alcohol while operating her vehicle.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime between Dec. 6, 2013 and March 15, 2014 at a camp along Christian Ridge Road in Union Township. During the incident, someone entered a camper trailer by prying open the door and breaking its lock and handle. Once inside they removed several items and evidence showed they might have stayed inside the trailer for an unknown period of time. - On Wednesday, Steve E. Cho of Whitestone, NY was the operator of a disabled tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 at mile-marker 99.6 westbound in Sandy Township. He had a bench warrant out for his arrest in King County, Washington with full extradition. Cho was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Clearfield County Jail pending extradition to Washington.
State police at Philipsburg
- An accident occurred Wednesday on Spike Island Road in Rush Township. Jesse L. Albert of Sandy Ridge was traveling northbound when he became distracted and failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. His vehicle subsequently traveled off the west berm and struck a pine tree. Albert sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the Tyrone Hospital for treatment. Albert was cited for the accident.
- On Tuesday, the state police initiated an investigation into an incident in which a bag containing a small amount of suspected marijuana was found in the area of Ninth and Railroad streets.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of scattering rubbish occurred between April 1 and April 19 on Ridge Road in Washington Township. During the incident, someone deposited trash on the victim’s property.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between April 14 and Wednesday on the Bennetts Valley Highway in Jay Township. During the incident, someone caused damage to the lobby drywall at the U.S. Postal Service. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a 911 hang-up call on from a South Fourth Street address. Further, police checked on the caller who stated it was an accidental dial.
Curwensville Borough
- On Tuesday, police advised a resident at a newly purchased home to contact the gas supplier. Their fuel had been padlocked; however, the matter was resolved the same day, said police.
- Police received a report about a bad check on Monday.
- On Tuesday, police receive a report about a Curwensville man urinating in public in the 600 block of Filbert Street.
DuBois City
- On Monday, police received a report about a hit-and-run accident at 100 Hospital Ave. The victim told police that while she was at work, someone struck her vehicle parked in the hospital lot. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Monday, police received a report about a motor vehicle accident with injuries that occurred in the 300 block of South Church Street. Upon arrival police observed a wrecked motorcycle and a male who was bleeding from his head area. The man told police he was the operator of the motorcycle and his front brakes had locked up on him. As a result, he was thrown from the motorcycle. Ambulance personnel assisted police at the scene.
- On Monday, police received a report about an incident of fraud from a resident on the 100 block of South Brady Street. The victim told police she sold her computer over the Internet, and a male sent her two money orders. It was found that the money orders were fraudulent and it was a scam. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Monday, police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief in the 200 block of South Highland Street. The victim told police that someone knocked over statues in her yard and also damaged one of them. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about a suspicious person who was walking around a residence in the 100 block of East Long Avenue. During the investigation, police found the male was a contractor and had permission by the owner to be there.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred in the 100 block of West Washington Avenue. The victim told police that she receives checks in the mail but hadn’t received one sent this month. She believed that someone had stolen it from her mailbox. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
