Florence R. Homer, 88, of Clearfield died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.
She was born June 27, 1925 in Barnesboro, a daughter of the late Gust and Mary Pauline (Hayes) Byrnes.
Mrs. Homer was a homemaker and took pride in raising her family. She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by seven children, Robert L. Homer and his wife, Barbara of Clearfield, Cathy Homer and her husband, Mike Mahalko of Strongstown, James Homer and his wife, Barbara and Ronald Homer and his wife, Donna, both of Indiana, Rick Homer and his wife, Gail of DuBois, David Homer and his wife, Marie of Cherry Tree and Patricia Elias and her husband, George of Northern Cambria; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Leona Byers of Pennsylvania Furnace, Carolyn Ellis of Upper St. Clair and Norma Mazurak of Northern Cambria.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Homer, on April 1, 1997 and whom she wed Sept. 11, 1948 in Barnesboro. She was also preceded in death by and infant twin son and daughter and a sister, Mary Ida Bohm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Manor, DuBois. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Spangler.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Monday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, and from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.
