State police at Clearfield

• An incident of theft by deception occurred Wednesday along the Allport Cutoff in Graham Township. During the incident, the victim received a scam telephone call from a male who convinced her that he was her great-grandson. He told the victim he needed money after being in a car accident. The victim subsequently obtained money pak cards from Wal-Mart and provided the male with the card information. The total stolen from the victim was $4,000, state police said.
• A protection from abuse violation occurred March 17 at a residence in Bradford Township. Further, a 24-year-old Curwensville man sent the victim a text message, which violated a court order. The man was subsequently placed in the Clearfield County Jail.
• A single-vehicle, hit-and-run accident occurred Saturday on Old Turnpike Road in Morris Township. Charles F. English of Sharon was traveling west when he lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons. His vehicle traveled off the north shoulder and impacted a ditch with its front end. After impact his vehicle traveled a short distance and overturned onto its driver’s side. English, however, fled the scene on foot; state police later determined he was the operator of the vehicle. Several summary traffic violations are to be filed against English through the district court.
• An incident of harassment and criminal mischief occurred March 18 on Wallaceton Road in Morris Township. During the incident, a known 38-year-old Osceola Mills woman allegedly slapped the victim across the face and damaged a few personal items. The victim declined to have the woman prosecuted for the incident.
• No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident that occurred March 18 on Grassflat Avenue in Cooper Township. Ryan T. Dann of Bellefonte was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle. He was negotiating a left-hand turn but traveled onto the west berm and struck a tree. Dann was cited for careless driving.
• An incident of theft occurred sometime Friday or Saturday at S&S Combi Car Wash in Decatur Township. During the incident, someone forcibly removed an “American Changer” machine from an exterior wall and fled the scene. The change machine is valued at approximately $2,400 and approximately $500 worth of quarters was inside it. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of terroristic threats occurred Saturday on the Morrisdale-Allport Highway in Morris Township. During the incident, a Morrisdale man and woman allegedly started a verbal argument with their daughter and her boyfriend. The argument, state police said, turned physical when the man allegedly struck the boyfriend and the woman her daughter. Both allegedly started to damage property inside the residence and then threatened to kill all five people who were there. Both the man and woman were charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and harassment.

State police at Philipsburg

• An incident of criminal mischief occurred March 25 at the Dahlgren’s Funeral Home in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone threw a rock through the sign of the funeral home. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of theft occurred March 25 on Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone sent the victim a fake check as a scam attempt. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of theft occurred March 25 in the 500 block of East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, the victim had money deposited into a bank account; however, they were unable to retrieve the money. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Wednesday, state police recovered a 32-inch television that was found at 315 N. Sixth St. in Philipsburg Borough.
• An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Wednesday on Buttonwood Street in Unionville Borough. During the incident, five individuals engaged in an argument. It was reported that a 21-year-old Julian woman was yelling at three juvenile girls. It was also reported that a 33-year-old Fleming man and the three juvenile girls directed threats toward the woman. Citations for disorderly conduct were filed against all individuals through the district court.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred Thursday in the area of East Pine and North Seventh streets in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone used an unknown object to gouge several parked vehicles. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• An incident of harassment occurred Saturday on East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, a 25-year-old man and the victim engaged in a physical altercation. Charges will be filed through the district court.
• An incident of harassment occurred Sunday on Robinson Lane in Port Matilda. During the incident, two known suspects allegedly engaged in a verbal argument. It allegedly turned physical when one was grabbed and pushed and the other was bitten on the arm. The incident remains under investigation at this time.

State police at DuBois

• A hit-and-run accident occurred Friday on Interstate 80 eastbound in the area of mile-marker 95.6 in Washington Township. Further, a tractor-trailer was in the right-hand lane, while Stuart J. Bombiani of Burgettstown was in the left-hand lane. The operator of the tractor-trailer sideswiped the Bombiani vehicle and fled the scene. The trailer was white with possible driver’s side damage. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.

State police at Ridgway

• An incident of public drunkenness occurred Friday on Main Street in Fox Township. Further, a 43-year-old Kersey man was observed staggering and falling while attempting to walk through the backyards of several residences. The man was cited for public drunkenness through the district court.
• An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Wednesday and Thursday on Commons Lane in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone rubbed profane verbiage in dust on the outside of a blue-colored Dodge Caravan while it was parked at the Ridgway Commons.
• An incident of theft occurred Friday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fox Township. During the incident, a known suspect allegedly removed items belonging to the victim, a 51-year-old St. Marys woman. The items were returned to the victim, who requested not to have any prosecution for the incident.
• An incident of aggravated assault occurred Friday on Beaver Drive in Ridgway Township. Further, a 39-year-old St. Marys man allegedly arrived and engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim. During the dispute, he allegedly struck the victim numerous times about the head, face and back with a prohibited weapon. The man fled the scene and was later located in St. Marys, at which point he was taken into custody. He was placed in the Elk County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Clearfield Borough

• Police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment along Reed Street.
• Police responded to suspicious activity along South Third Street.  The complaint was unfounded.
• Police responded to a report about a young female who was walking along West Front Street and crying.  The female was gone upon police arrival.
• Police responded to a report about a vehicle blocking a driveway.
• Police responded to a verbal domestic dispute.  Both individuals were separated for the night.
• Police located an open door on a vehicle.  As a result, police contacted the owner who stated everything appeared to be OK.
• Police cited a male for public drunkenness on Nichols Street and released him to a sober adult.
• Police provided traffic control for the “Run for the Troops” 5K event.
• Police checked the welfare of an individual at a South Fourth Street residence. The individual wasn’t at the residence and is staying with a family member.
• Police responded to a property dispute on East Locust Street. Upon arrival police determined it to be a civil issue.
• Police responded for a tree blocking the roadway on Daisy Street.  The tree had fallen onto a parked vehicle. The fire department, police said, was able to clear the tree from the roadway.
• Police responded to a disturbance at Clearfield Penn Highlands, where a patient was being unruly and causing problems for the staff.
• Police responded to the hospital for found drug paraphernalia.
• Police arrested a male for assault after it was allegedly found that he had struck a small child.
• Police responded to a vacant business for an open door.  The building was found to be secure.
• Police had two bikes turned in that were found at Upper Witmer Park near the Susquehanna River.
• Police responded to a reported burglary on Daisy Street. Further, police believe that the suspects gained entry into a vacant residence.
• Police responded to a reported drug violation in the School Avenue area.  The complaint was unfounded.
• Police arrested a male for DUI after he was found slumped over the wheel of a vehicle along South Second Street.

Lawrence Township

• Police assisted the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office with serving several warrants in Hyde.
• Police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications.
• Police received a report about a wanted person.
• Police received a report about an alarm at a business on state Route 879. Everything was found to be OK.
• Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at a business on Turnpike Avenue Extension.
• Police received a report about a traffic hazard. Further, a large rock was on the roadway along Hogback Road.
• Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident on the Clearfield – Glen Richey Highway. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
• Police received a report about an incident of harassment and disorderly conduct at the Edgewood Apartments.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of fraud on South Second Street.
• Police received a report about a male who was down on the train tracks. Upon arrival police found he was suffering from a medical emergency. The male was transported to Clearfield Penn Highlands for treatment.
• Police received a report about a psychological emergency. Further, a female was transported to Clearfield Penn Highlands.
• Police received a report about an animal that was struck by a vehicle.
• Police received a report about a suspicious male on Leonard Street. Upon arrival police located the male on U.S. Route 322 and found he was waiting for an appointment at a different business on Leonard Street.

DuBois City

• On Friday, police received a report about a male who was sticking his leg into traffic in the area of North Stockdale Street and East Park Avenue. Upon arrival police searched the area with negative results.
• On Friday, police received a report about a hit-and-run accident in the 500 block of West Long Avenue. Further, the victim’s vehicle was struck by another while it was parked. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Friday, police received a report about an alleged assault that occurred in the 200 block of Maple Avenue. The victim told police she was struck in the face by a known male. Both the victim and the male were juveniles; the victim’s parents didn’t want to seek prosecution at this time.
• On Friday, police received a report about an alarm at a business on Meadow Lane. Upon arrival police met an employee and found everything to be OK.
• On Saturday, police received a report about the attempted theft of a vehicle in the 400 block of South Brady Street. The victim told police he arrived to work after which he noticed someone tried to steal his vehicle that was parked at the business. Police collected evidence that was left on the vehicle, and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Saturday, police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle at a business on Tom Mix Drive. The victim told police she parked her vehicle and when she returned, she found pry marks on the door. Police collected evidence at the scene, and the incident remains under investigation.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of harassment by communication in the 200 block of Hospital Avenue. The victim told police a known male has continued to call her even though she’s told him to stop. She didn’t want to seek prosecution but requested police to ask the male to stop calling her. Police contacted the male who advised he would stop calling the victim.
• On Sunday, police witnessed a highly intoxicated male who was walking on North Brady Street. While speaking with the male, police found he was on probation. The male was charged with public drunkenness and placed in the Clearfield County Jail on a probation violation.
• While on routine patrol Sunday, police observed a vehicle stopped in the oncoming lane on DuBois Street. The operator then drove by police who stopped him on New Street. During the investigation, police found the male operator was intoxicated and on probation. He was placed under arrest for DUI and put in the CCJ on a probation violation.
• During the week of March 23-29, police investigated four traffic accidents and issued 45 traffic citations and 11 written traffic warnings.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle that occurred in a parking lot in the 100 block of Hospital Avenue. Upon arrival police observed the back window was smashed out of the victim’s vehicle. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
• On Sunday, police received a report about a disturbance in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival police found two males fighting at a residence. Charges were filed against both males.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications in the 600 block of West Washington Avenue. The victim advised police that a known male has continued to text message her obscene and derogatory messages. She advised police that she doesn’t want to pursue charges at this time; however, she requested police to ask the male to stop sending her messages. Police advised the male if the harassing messages continued, he would be arrested for his actions.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred at a business on Hoover Avenue. The victim told police she had $40 in cash stolen from her. Police have a suspect, and charges are currently pending at this time.
• On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of harassment by communications that occurred in the 500 block of Locust Street. Police were advised that a known juvenile male was directing threats toward the victim on Facebook. The incident remains under investigation, and charges are currently pending.
• On Monday, police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred in the 100 block of North Brady Street. Upon arrival police encountered the male and female suspects. Both admitted to stealing items from the store. Charges of retail theft were filed against both individuals.
