State police at Clearfield
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between Feb. 24 and Friday at DJ Wisor & Sons in Boggs Township. During the incident, someone took three drill heads. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- The investigation is continuing into an incident that occurred Friday at the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale during which a male inmate possessed a prohibited offensive weapon. Further, prison officials conducted an inventory search of the inmate’s personal belongings upon him being transferred to the Restricted Housing Unit. At that time, officials discovered and seized a shank made from sharpened metal with a hard plastic handle that was inside the inmate’s coat.
- No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident that occurred March 10 on Crooked Sewer Road in Decatur Township. Seth A. Vail of Brisbin lost control of his vehicle, which crossed the southbound lane and struck the guiderail on the west berm. Upon impact his vehicle crossed back through the southbound lane and came to a rest in the northbound lane. Vail was cited for the accident; his vehicle was towed from the scene.
- An incident of DUI occurred March 10 in the area of Third and Lynn streets in Bigler Township. Further, state police responded to the scene to assist the Clearfield County Sherriff’s Office in transporting a motorist with an active bench warrant. Upon arrival state police determined the 25-year-old Clearfield man, Kyle L. Deluccia, was impaired and arrested him for suspected DUI. The DUI charges will be filed through the district court.
- On March 10, state police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Third and Lynn streets in Bigler Township. Further, state police found a passenger, a 23-year-old Clearfield woman, in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed through the district court as a result of the incident.
- An incident of simple assault occurred Friday on Interstate 80 westbound at the exit 120 off-ramp in Lawrence Township. Further, an African-American male and the victim pulled to the side of the roadway after an alleged road rage incident. The victim told state police he was struck in the face with a flashlight and the male had fled the scene west in an older, green Kenworth truck. - An incident of disorderly conduct occurred March 11 at a residence along the Allport Cutoff in Graham Township. During the incident, a 27-year-old Karthaus man arrived at the victims’ residence and allegedly verbally assaulted her. The man left prior to the arrival of state police. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred sometime between March 1 and March 11 on Passage Lane in Cooper Township. During the incident, someone shot the windows out of the victim’s unoccupied single-wide trailer and then fled the scene. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of theft occurred Sunday on Haytown Road in Penn Township. During the incident, someone took the victim’s iPod touch, which is valued at $250. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
State police at DuBois
- No injuries were reported after a single vehicle accident that occurred Friday on the Bennetts Valley Highway in Huston Township. Kayla A. Gillen of St. Marys was traveling southbound when her vehicle drifted off the right berm while rounding a left-hand curve. Gillen apparently attempted to steer her vehicle to re-enter the southbound lane; however, it crossed over the entire roadway and struck a concrete culvert. Her vehicle continued traveling forward before striking a road sign and down an embankment. Gillen was cited for the accident; her vehicle was towed from the scene.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred March 6 at JR&L Industries Inc. in Washington Township. During the incident, someone damaged the victim’s vehicle. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of identity theft occurred March 4 in Huston Township. During the incident, someone opened a Verizon Wireless account with the victim’s personal information.
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred sometime between March 8 and Saturday on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, the victim told state police that someone damaged the hood of her vehicle. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Saturday at RJ’s Pub in Philipsburg Borough. During the alleged incident, two West Decatur men engaged in a fight inside the establishment but continued into the parking lot. The men were subsequently separated in the parking lot. Charges were filed through the district court.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of access device fraud occurred Friday at a Whetstone Road residence in Brockport. During the incident, someone gained access to the victim’s debit card information and charged $103.16 online.
- An incident of criminal trespass occurred March 12 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fox Township. During the incident, a 29-year-old Kersey woman allegedly entered the store after being advised she’s no longer permitted to do so. Charges were filed through the district court.
- No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident on March 12 on Montmorenci Road in Ridgway Township. Bruno A. Iorfido of Ridgway was traveling southbound and encountered a section of water on the roadway. He subsequently lost control of his vehicle and traveled off the west berm, where he impacted a drainage culvert. Iorfido was issued a warning due to his speed at the time of the accident.
- An incident of theft occurred March 2 on Dahoga Road in Jones Township.  During the incident, a known male allegedly removed the victim’s LG cellular phone from her residence. The total value of the phone is $100. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime between Feb. 21 and March 2 on Worrall Street in Jones Township. Further, the victim told state police that someone took a Play Station 3 and six video games from her residence.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred at the truck stop. The incident remains under investigation.
- Police received a report about a custody issue at a local elementary school.
- Police served a warrant on a wanted individual during an incident.
- Police received a report about a deer that had been struck and injured. However, it was gone upon police arrival.
- Police checked the welfare of a bicyclist and found everything to be OK.
- While on patrol, police located a vehicle in the Lawrence Township Rec Park. Further investigation found a male passenger was wanted through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to the jail on the warrant. Also, police found illegal substances in his vehicle; charges are currently pending.
- Police responded to numerous 9-1-1 hang-up calls in the 100 block of Clark Street. Upon arrival police found a child playing with the phone.
- Police received a report about a missing miniature collie from the Maple Avenue area. The dog is brown, black and white in color and answers to the name, Rascal. Anyone with information about the dog is asked to contact police or the dog law officer.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a local business establishment. The business was found to be secure.
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident on Barn Road. Upon arrival police found that the vehicle had fled the scene. Police located the vehicle at a residence a short distance away. No injuries occurred as a result of the accident.
- Police located an open door at a closed business on SR 879. Police searched inside and found everything to be OK.
- Police located two suspicious vehicles inside the Rec Park.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a business on River Road. Police found it was a false alarm.
- Police received a report about unwanted individuals or suspicious persons at the Snappy Convenience Store.
- Police received a report about a contraband incident at the jail. Further, a known female attempted to pass an illegal controlled substance into the jail for an inmate.
- Police received a report about an abandoned vehicle. The owner was advised to move his vehicle.
Curwensville Borough
- Police assisted an officer with Domestic Relations after a man fled Friday in a wooded area off of Ridge Avenue.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault Friday in the area of North Street. The victim was transported to Penn Highlands Clearfield for treatment. Also, a Curwensville man was located and incarcerated on assault charges.
- Police received a report about a ring being stolen from a vehicle that was parked on High Street between Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Police described the ring as being platinum with a purple/yellow stone with words inscribed inside the band. The owner is offering a reward for the ring. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 814-236-3858.
DuBois City
- On Friday, an accident involving injuries occurred on West Park Avenue. Upon arrival police found the operator of a sports utility vehicle became distracted and struck another SUV. One person was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center – West but later flown to another hospital.
- On Friday, a female advised police she had been in the DuBois area the day before. She wanted to report that someone had stolen medications from her vehicle while she was parked at a business. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- On Friday, a caller advised police about an unresponsive male on the porch of their Lord Street residence. Upon arrival police found the male was highly intoxicated and he started to fight with police when they attempted to place him into custody. Police were able to control the male and place him under arrest. He was transported to the police station and cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
- On Friday, police responded to an alarm at a business in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. Police found the building to be secure.
- On Saturday, police responded to an alarm at a business in the 100 block of North Main Street. Police found the building to be secure.
- On Saturday, police responded to an alarm at a business in the 400 block of Beaver Drive. Police found the building to be secure.
- On Saturday, police responded to an alarm at a business in the 100 block of North Main Street. Police found the building to be secure.
- While on patrol Saturday, police observed an intoxicated male on West Long Avenue. The male was running into walls and nearly falling down. Police took the male into custody and cited him for public drunkenness.
- During the week of March 9 through Saturday, police investigated two traffic accidents and issued 39 traffic citations and 13 written warnings.
- On Sunday, police received a report about a female who was yelling for help on East Weber Avenue. Upon arrival police canvased the area; however, they couldn’t locate anyone.
- On Sunday, police received a report about a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Long Avenue and Evergreen Street. While en route, police were advised the operator had left the scene. Upon arrival police observed a red Mitsubishi with severe damage. The operator of the vehicle had driven through a telephone pole, splitting it in half. Police located the operator who led them on a foot pursuit but apprehended him after a short while. The operator was placed under arrest for DUI and charges are currently pending. Sandy Township police assisted at the scene.
- On Sunday, police received a report about a suspicious male who was in the parking lot of a business on North Brady Street. Upon arrival police found a male who was passed out inside his vehicle. After waking the male, police found he was waiting to meet a friend; the male was then picked up by his friend. Charges are currently pending.
- On Sunday, police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred in the 100 block of East Washington Avenue. The victim told police she heard the operator of a vehicle blowing a horn outside. When she walked outside, she witnessed a black Dodge truck leaving the scene. She then noticed broken eggs all over her front door and porch. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- While on patrol Sunday, police observed two suspicious males in the alley behind a business on West Long Avenue. Upon making contact with them, police found a small amount of marijuana on one of the males. Charges are currently pending for the drug violation.
