PINE TOWNSHIP – A Canfield, Ohio man, Christopher Beitzel, sustained severe injuries and was transported to Altoona after a single-vehicle accident this morning on Interstate 80 eastbound in Pine Township, reported the state police at Clearfield.
Beitzel was traveling in the left-hand lane in the area of mile-marker 113. Due to traveling at a high rate of speed, he lost control of his vehicle. It exited via the left berm and collided with an embankment, at which point it overturned for several yards.
Beitzel was wearing his seatbelt; however, he was transported to Altoona with severe injuries, state police said. The Beitzel vehicle was towed from the accident scene; he was cited for the accident.
