NEW YORK – Officials are at an East Harlem apartment building in New York that exploded and collapsed, causing 11 minor injuries.
According to officials, smoke is showing from the area, and firefighters are putting out the fire. Officials said residents heard a large explosion in the apartment building around 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the reports came in from around Park Avenue between 114th and 117th streets. The site is located near Metro-North commuter railroad tracks off the northeastern tip of Central Park.
